$1.4 Million Dollar Fine

The Federal Communications Commission has proposed a $1.4 million fine against 52 ABC Television Network stations over a 2003 broadcast of cop drama NYPD Blue. The fine is for a scene where a boy surprises a woman as she prepares to take a shower. The scene depicted “multiple, close-up views” of the woman’s “nude buttocks” according to an agency order issued late Friday.

Phoenix Police Going After Hookers, Customers
Football players aren't the only professionals who will be looking to score in Phoenix this week.
Police are getting for ready for the oldest profession in the Super Bowl's host city.
Arizona authorities have stepped up patrols, promising to sweep out so-called circuit girls and their pimps before next Sunday's Super Bowl.
Circuit girls are upscale hookers who blend in with the high-rollers.
But it isn't just the hookers who have to worry about the police. Phoenix police Sgt. Joel Trantor said they will also be going after the customers.

Drunk Student Drove In Police Lot Thought He Was At College
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Authorities in Port St. Lucie said an intoxicated college student who decided to hand in a paper for a class instead ended up in their parking lot.
Police said Joseph Burzynski was weaving through the police parking lot full of cruisers and almost hit a sergeant. When asked what he was doing, Burzynski told authorities he thought he was at Indian River Community College.
The 19-year-old's blood-alcohol level was allegedly more than twice the level at which a person is determined to be too drunk to drive.
Burzynski was arrested on a DUI charge.

SWEETWATER, Tenn. - A woman has been charged with possession of burglary tools after police said a crowbar slipped out of her pants as she was lurking around a church.
McMinn County Sheriff's Deputy Rick Shadrick pulled into the church parking lot early Saturday morning after he spotted a car parked near the building.
He found Jennifer Hunt, 35, walking from behind the building, where she said she was going to bathroom. When she was walking to her car to get her ID, a crowbar dropped from her pants
The officer also found Hunt had a screwdriver and observed pry marks on church doors. Hunt was being held on $2,000 bond pending a Tuesday arraignment.

Hit in the head with pot
GALLUP, N.M. -- One state inspector didn't look too hard for evidence of pot smuggling.
It hit him in the head -- literally. According to authorities in New Mexico, an officer with the state Motor Transportation Division was conducting a routine truck inspection. While he was inside the tractor trailer rig, a box with about 50 pounds of marijuana bricks fell on his head. The truck was supposed to be carrying beauty products. Officials say the truck had 50 boxes that contained more than 2,500 pounds of the illegal weed. Authorities put the value of the illicit cargo at more than 6 million dollars. The pot has been turned over to the feds. Officials haven't decided if the driver will be charged.

Customs officers have seized hundreds of headless rats which were being smuggled to London So African diners could crunch into their bones and flesh. Hundreds of rat corpses - which had been smoked to improve their flavor - were found at Tilbury Docks, in London. The grisly discovery was made by customs officials as they made a routine inspection of a shipment of synthetic hair at the docks. Closer investigation revealed boxes containing the carcases of 340 kilos of headless rats.

Man sets fire to radio station after his songs aren't played
A 24-year-old volunteer at community radio station took his music so seriously that he set fire to the station when it didn't play the songs on his playlist, Austin Fire Department Battalion Chief Greg Nye said.
Paul Webster Feinstein has been charged with second-degree felony arson and was being held Monday in the Travis County Central Booking Facility. If convicted, he could be sentenced to two to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. Feinstein told investigators during a six-hour interview Friday that he was "very unhappy" that the music he had picked for the Internet program overnight — when the station is off the air — had been changed, Nye said. » Full article here
