Small Bits of News You Didn’t Know you Needed

Sex Shop SEX
A man has twice broken into a Cairns adult shop and had sex with blow-up dolls before abandoning the vinyl vixens in a nearby lane.
However, police are on his tail, because the thief left his DNA on a doll and possible fingerprints on its face along with three other inflatable dolls and lubricants.
Business owners believe the same culprit is responsible for break-ins and till thefts at the Sapphire Bar on Lake St and three break-ins at the Laneway Adult Shop off Spence St in the past several days.
His method of entry is to smash through walls and squeeze through tight holes.
The owner of the adult shop, who wished to be named only as Vogue, said that in a first unreported break-in at his recently opened shop, the doll-snatcher had stolen five dolls and had sex with one of them.
"He has been taking the dolls out the back and blowing them up and using the dolls and leaving them in the alley," he said.
"It is totally bizarre.

Man masturbating at 150km/h, gets a stiff sentence
A man who filmed himself masturbating while driving at 150km/h on the Stuart Highway has been fined more than $2000 and sentenced to two months' jail.
Brenton Alan Erhardt, 39, appeared in custody before magistrate Sue Oliver today to answer the traffic, firearms and drug offences.
Erhardt pleaded guilty to the six charges, which happened in circumstances Ms Oliver described as "bizarre to say the least".
The court heard Erhardt had been traveling south along the Stuart Highway, had been smoking cannabis while driving and was filming himself masturbating with a video camera in July last year.

Addict blows $40,000 inheritance on drugs
A man bought cannabis valued at more than $135,000 with an inheritance from his dead mother, a court heard yesterday.
The Northern Territory Supreme Court heard Brenton Alan Erhardt, 39, was caught by police with 4960g of cannabis, and two cannabis plants.
The court heard he had received almost $130,000 inheritance when his mother died, and he had used it to fuel a long-standing cannabis habit.
Erhardt pleaded guilty to supplying a schedule two drug and possessing two cannabis plants.
But defense lawyer Peter Elliot said Erhardt had "panicked", and was not contesting the fact that he had driven to Adelaide to buy cannabis to sell in Darwin.
He bought a Holden Commodore with the inheritance and drove it to Adelaide where he bought the cannabis for $40,000.

Man guilty of getting dog drunk
A man has become the first person in Britain to be convicted of getting a dog drunk.
Andrew Wilson, 31, forced the dog to drink cans of lager and topped up its water bowl with vodka. He laughed as the confused American bulldog called Bronx struggled to stay on his feet and battered the animal with a broken chair leg.
Neighbors heard the dog whimpering in agony as Wilson beat it on its head and back. Police raided the house in Southmead, Bristol, and found five-year-old Bronx bleeding, shaky and unsteady on his feet. The dog still had 50mg of alcohol in its blood 11 hours after it was rescued by the RSPCA.
Wilson, a jobless chef who was dog-sitting at the time, is the first to be convicted of the offence introduced under the 2006 Animal Welfare Act.
He was sentenced to 150 hours' community service and banned from keeping any "warm-blooded mammal for a year". Bronx has been taken into care at an RSPCA center.

Pizza employees ordered to work in the cold
Employees of a pizza delivery shop say the owners have cut off the heat in the store. And they say if the workers don’t like it, they can leave.
Dan Baxter, who works at the Pizza Time in Lacey, says he was suspended for two weeks after talking to KING 5 about this. He expects to be fired and is looking for other employment.
"When it’s really, really cold, like when it’s 19 (degrees) outside, it will be 25 in the store," said Baxter.
So what about using the ovens to heat the place?
"The ovens create a little bit of heat, but the exhaust fans pull it all out," said Baxter.
Baxter says the employees were once allowed to keep the heat around 55 degrees, but one night, they forgot to shut the furnace off after work.
That was the end of the heat at the store.

UPDATE: Skier Caught Dangling Bare-Bottomed on Lift

This guy who ended up dangling upside down from a ski lift with his bare butt in the wind probably doesn't want to hear any "ski butt" jokes. Vail Resorts said the 48-year-old man wasn't injured and was rescued after about seven minutes. His name hasn't been released.
Resort officials have said only that the man was trying to get on the Blue Ski Basin lift on New Year's Day. They haven't said what went wrong.
Resort workers stopped the lift, backed it up about 10 or 12 feet and rescued the man.
Bystanders snapped photos and posted them the Internet, showing a man who looks to be hanging by one ski boot, his ski pants and underwear apparently snagged in the chair and reaching no farther than his knees.
Vail spokeswoman Liz Biebl confirmed the photos were in fact the victim.
