Small Bits of News You Didn’t Know you Needed
London Police Accused of Waterboarding Suspects
Metropolitan Police officers subjected suspects to waterboarding, according to allegations at the center of a major anti-corruption inquiry, was reported on Tuesday.
The interrogation claims are part of a wide-ranging investigation which also includes accusations that officers fabricated evidence and stole suspects’ property. It has already led to the abandonment of a drug trial and the suspension of several police officers.
None of the officers under suspicion has been arrested, but the IPCC said last night: "This is an ongoing criminal investigation and as such all six officers will be criminally interviewed under caution."

Police: Kids in back seat of car while mom has sex in front
A Marysville mother was arrested after police found her having sex with a man in the front seat of a car while her two young children sat in the back seat, according to police reports.
Danica A. Wallace, 24, was charged with two counts of endangering children as well as public indecency, drug paraphernalia and driving while intoxicated and taken to Clark County Jail, according to a Springfield police report. Her 3-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter were taken in by family.
Police said they found Wallace engaged in sexual activity with Eric Welch, 29, of Springfield. Wallace told police that she had been driving, but pulled over to have sex with Welch because they could not have sex at the friend’s house where they had been, according to the police report.
Wallace admitted to drinking and failed a field sobriety test; and police found open beer bottles and a piece of foil with marijuana residue in the vehicle, according to the report.

New Orleans Police Sergeant Burglarized Hours After His Death
A New Orleans police sergeant who survived the D-Day Normandy invasion to battle criminals for 63 years in the city of New Orleans finally lost one to the bad guys last week — only hours after he died.
The burglars, two men and a woman, broke into Police Sgt. Manuel Curry's house Thursday morning and stole several rifles and a handgun, along with jewelry, money and medication, New Orleans police said.
Curry, 84, believed to be the longest-serving active-duty police officer in the country, died of heart failure hours earlier.
His widow Genevieve "Jackie" Curry, whom he was married to for 51 years, was at a funeral home planning her husband's burial when she learned of the burglary, the paper reported.
"Oh my goodness. Who would do this?"

Man in purple bra arrested
A Sparta, Michigan man is under arrest at the Kent County Jail for allegedly breaking into a neighbor's home while he was wearing a woman's bra and boxer shorts.
It happened on Elm Street in Sparta. Witnesses say around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, 20-year-old Jacob Fast, entered the back of his neighbor's home.
One of the victims, Lisa Collins says she found Fast rifling through her car. "I was actually kind of worried. He was in a bra and boxers and he's going through my car. I didn't know what to think. I didn't know who he was." As Collins dialed 911, she realized it might be her neighbor. When she startled him, he ran back to his house, two doors down. "I was panicked, I was screaming." Collins believes Fast broke-in through the back gate. He likely entered the house through an "un-locked" door. Several drawers were open and the car keys were gone. When officers arrived, they knocked on Fast's door. When he refused to come out, they got a search warrant and went in. He eventually told police that he had been out all night and was intoxicated.
At the time of his arrest, Fast was not wearing the purple bra, but police say they did find it inside his home. Collins says it was not hers.

Man Ticketed For Wearing Speedo On Beach
Bob Hezzelwood said he has been visiting Bonita Beach for years and no one has bothered or complained about his bathing suit. However, recently, a Lee County sheriff's deputy gave Hezzelwood a ticket for trespass and told him not to return to the beach.
A judge tossed out the case.
However, Hezzelwood said he plans to sue the sheriff's department, saying his civil rights were violated.
"It frightens me and embarrasses me to go public with it. But by the same token, I don't know what else to do," Hezzelwood told The Naples News.
"I'm a civilian out here who’s been picked on by a little bully deputy and that’s wrong. It’s just wrong."

Swimsuit man pleads not guilty to 8 charges
For almost a week police in Sugarcreek Township, Ohio had been searching for an unknown man reported to be approaching women and teenage girls along the Little Miami River while wearing a women's bathing suit.
Monday evening, they arrested 41-year-old Kevin Lee Miller at a property not far from the river. At the time of his arrest Miller was wearing a green women's bathing suit, over a bra that was stuffed with more women's bathing suits.
Police say over the past week they'd received about 15-20 legitimate reports about a man in a bathing suit. They say Miller never physically threatened anyone, but certainly scared some of the women and girls he came in contact with.
Miller is facing five counts of public indecency and three counts of menacing, all misdemeanors.
