Navy Captain Demoted After Warship Drag Race Surfaced

A Navy captain was demoted because she berated and assaulted her crew, not because she led her guided missile cruiser on a drag-race with another U.S. warship in the Pacific, an investigation shows.
Capt. Holly Graf was relieved of her command of the cruiser USS Cowpens after an investigation substantiated crew allegations that she was abusive and used her position for personal gain, naval officials said

Pawned computer leads to child porn arrest

A man who lost his computer in a home burglary has been arrested after the laptop surfaced at a local pawn shop with several images of child pornography on its hard drive.
Police detectives received a call from a worker at Cash American Pawn Shop in reference to a pawned laptop computer.
The worker had been preparing the laptop for sale, cleaning the hard drive when several images of child pornography were discovered.
Police used the serial numbers on the computer and it matched a computer that had been reported stolen in a burglary at George Lewis's residence.
Police say they went to Lewis's residence to conduct an interview. He asked if they could speak with him away from his girlfriend who was in the room.
According to the report, Lewis then told police he did own the computer in question and he did use it to download images of child pornography but he said the images were part of an investigation that he was conducting. Lewis told investigators he thought he was a Good Samaritan for his work.
Police took Lewis into custody.

A gang that became Britain’s biggest importers of high grade skunk cannabis made so much money that they left tens of thousands of pounds to rot in hidden safes.
The three "directors" of the organized gang made "profits" of up to £200 million, so much that they were unable to spend it fast enough.
In an undercover surveillance operation involving police in Britain, France, Holland and Switzerland the gang were seen driving to Europe with £500,000 stuffed into sports bags.
In Geneva they used the cash to buy expensive designer watches.

Small Bits of News You Didn’t Know You Needed

Girls and their toys!!!
Police summoned over forgotten vibrator
A woman phoned police after hearing "suspicious noises" in her apartment. The noise was so loud and strange, even over the telephone, that police decided to send a patrol car around to the "scene of the crime".
"Daringly, and with the occupier's permission, one of the officers opened the drawer of a wardrobe where the noise was coming from.
"Underneath some clothes he found a very personal, battery-operated object which had obviously switched itself on... The tenant's face abruptly changed color."
Police then "wished her a nice evening and left".

Woman shaves her pubic hair while driving
As authorities nationwide warn motorists of the dangers of driving while texting, Florida Keys law enforcement officers add a new caution: Don't try to shave your privates, either.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers say a two-vehicle crash Tuesday at Mile Marker 21 on Cudjoe Key was caused by a 37-year-old woman driver who was shaving her bikini area while her ex-husband took the wheel from the passenger seat.
"She said she was meeting her boyfriend in Key West and wanted to be ready for the visit," Trooper Gary Dunick said. "If I wasn't there, I wouldn't have believed it. About 10 years ago I stopped a guy in the exact same spot ... who had three syringes sticking out of his arm. It was just surreal and I thought, 'Nothing will ever beat this.' Well, this takes it."

Teen arrested for playing 'offensive' rap music from car
A teen has been arrested for listening to what police have deemed offensive rap music.
In what could be a legal test case, 19-year-old Nathan Michael Wilkie faces a charge of offensive behavior after police arrested him when he was listening to music by underground rapper Kid Selzy on his car stereo.
Mr. Wilkie was parked outside a Timboon supermarket, waiting for his mother, when he was arrested.
The Warrnambool Magistrates' Court heard he was listening to lyrics such as "shut your f------ mouth bitch, f------ motherf-----".
The court was told the arresting officers found the music offensive and derogatory to females.
Mr Wilkie allegedly told officers: "You're a joke, go do some real police work."

2 + 2 = Woman’s $5M suit
Maria Alaimo wanted a breast augmentation, not breast duplication.
But "four breasts" is what the Staten Island mother got after a 2003 visit to Dr. Keith Berman, which was intended to enlarge the woman's breasts to a full 36 C cup.
Instead, Alaimo wound up with "double-bubble" deformities that caused "pain ... disability, loss of self-esteem, humiliation and embarrassment," according to her lawsuit.
