Friends Alive and Dead

Every Friday night for 23 years, Zeli Rossi has traded his bed for a coffin.
Rossi tells that his weekly sleeping habit became public last month when his 14-year-old grandson wrote a story about him for his school's newspaper.
.
 .
Long ago, the two promised each other that whoever died first would have his casket bought by the other. Rossi's friend bought him a coffin when he mistakenly thought Rossi had died in a 1983 car crash.
When the friend died in 1988, Rossi started sleeping in the coffin to honor his memory.
And he also kept his promise to buy the dead friend a "brand new" casket.

Forklift truck wedding parade for couple

Forget booking a Rolls Royce limousine or a horse drawn carriage for your wedding ride - it's now all about the forklift cavalcade.

 .
That's what one couple in China opted for in a bid to celebrate their shared love for each other and the humble warehouse workhorse.
Newlyweds Kong Qingyang and Shen Likun first met when groom Kong was working as a forklift driver and bride Shen was working as a forklift salesperson.
To commemorate their special connection they chose to commandeer a forklift parade in their home town of Xintai, Hebei Province.
Starting at 8am the brightly decorated forklifts motored from the groom's house and then broke with tradition to pick up the bride-to-be.
Naturally it took a while for them to arrive at the church, with a top speed of eight miles per hour limiting progress, but the vows were exchanged just after the couple arrived at 11:30am.
Following her unusual entrance, the blushing bride Shen said: 'I love him (Kong) as a person. No matter what vehicle he picks me up in I would marry him. I will remember this parade forever.'

Boy seems to attract metal objects

An 11-year-old boy in Brazil's northeastern city of Mossoro is drawing attention with his purportedly magnet-like qualities.
.
 .
Paulo David Amorim demonstrating how forks, knives, scissors, cooking pans, cameras and other metal objects seem drawn to his body and remain stuck on his chest, stomach and back.
The boy's father tells that he decided to test his son after learning of a boy in Croatia with a similar ability. Junior Amorim says he was surprised to find "a fork and knife stuck to his body."
The youth says classmates call him "magnet boy."
Dr. Dix-Sept Rosado Sobrinho tells Globo it is the first time in his 30-year career that he has seen a case like this.

'Singing Penis'

A tiny water boatman is the loudest animal on Earth relative to its body size, a study has revealed.
Scientists from France and Scotland recorded the aquatic animal "singing" at up to 99.2 decibels, the equivalent of listening to a loud concert while sitting in the front row.
.
.
The insect makes the sound by rubbing its penis against its abdomen in a process known as "stridulation".
Researchers say the song is a courtship display performed to attract a mate.
Micronecta scholtzi are freshwater insects measuring just 2mm that are common across Europe.
On average, the songs of M. scholtzi reached 78.9 decibels, comparable to a passing freight train.

Testicles dedicated to Kate Middleton and Prince William

The best testicle cooks in the world are promising to dedicate the prize-winning dishes at this year's World Testicle & Aphrodisiac Cooking Championships to Kate Middleton and Prince William.

 .
Chef Ljubomir Erovic, the organizer of the event, said testicles are rich in testosterone and minerals and are believed to be a powerful aphrodisiac in his home country of Serbia.
Erovic believes if the royal couple were to try some of the dishes on offer they would be in a better position to conceive a child - how thoughtful.
Delicacies on offer at the championships include a full range of bull, boar, camel, ostrich and even kangaroo testicles.
He has already written the world's first recipe collection of its kind, Cooking With Balls, which includes how to prepare testicle pizzas, battered testicles and barbecued testicles with giblets.
The book notes that you will need a ‘very sharp knife’ if you want to embark on traditional testicle cookery techniques, and also advises washing your balls and letting them soak in water before cooking, to soften them up.

Airline let man wearing women's underwear on board

Six days before a college football player was arrested at San Francisco International Airport in a dispute that began because he tried to board a US Airways jet with sagging pants, a man who was wearing little but women's undergarments was allowed to fly the airline.
.
 .
A photo of the scantily clad man was provided from a passenger on the June 9 flight from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to Phoenix. Some passengers had complained to airline workers before the plane boarded, but that employees had ignored those complaints.
US Airways spokesperson Valerie Wunder confirmed she'd received the photo; but said employees had been correct not to ask the man to cover himself.

Brian Feldman plans to embrace his own father, Edward Alan Feldman, on Sunday, June 19, from midnight to 11:59 p.m.
.
 .
“It is meant to be both a healing and transformative experience,” said Brian Feldman. “How often does one have the opportunity to embrace their father for this period of time? It will likely be the hardest project I have done to date.”

The embarrassing father is no more.

Over the course of the 180-day school year, Dale Price waved at the school bus carrying his 16-year-old son, Rain, while wearing something different every morning outside their American Fork home.
He started out by donning a San Diego Chargers helmet and jersey, an Anakin Skywalker helmet, and swim trunks and a snorkel mask,
Among others, he later dressed up as Elvis, Batgirl, The Little Mermaid, The scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz, Princess Leia, Nacho Libre and Santa Claus. He wore spandex, leather, feathers, wigs, flips flops, suits, boots, fur, Army fatigues and several dresses, including a wedding dress.

It's a nice day for a white wedding.
It's a nice day to start again."

Dale Price said it took a lot of effort to keep up, but he did it to have fun and show his son he really cared about him. "He can use it against his kids and tell them, 'If you think you are embarrassed by me, you should have seen your grandfather."
His mother, Rochelle Price, said it's important to have a sense of humor. She started a blog with photos of her husband's costumes at waveatthebus.blogspot.com.
"Life is hard. It is fun to be able to start it with a laugh every day," she said.
Despite all the fun, Dale Price said he doesn't plan on doing it again next year -- at least for now.

An Oregon woman develops European accent after surgery

Karen Butler has never been to Europe but 18 months after the procedure her "foreign" accent remains.
.
.
The 56-year-old tax consultant from Toledo, Oregon, has found her life transformed by the dental procedure, which left her with dentures, and - depending on whom you ask - an Eastern European, Swedish or British accent.
Mrs. Butler had all her top teeth and front bottom teeth removed in November 2009 because of gingivitis. A week later the swelling had gone away, but she still sounded strange. Her dentist told her she just had to get used to her new teeth.
But as weeks stretched on with no change, Mrs. Butler did some online research. She diagnosed herself with Foreign Accent Syndrome, a medical condition with only a few dozen documented cases.

Man Arrested Wearing a G-String and Scrunchie

Police in Lodi, Calif. arrested Shawn Batie, 42, at 9:41 p.m. on Friday night after they said he was found under the influence of methamphetamines.
.

.
Officers responded to a call where a man later identified as Batie was found standing in the dirt next to the cemetery with a flashlight, yelling in the dark.
Police said that Batie was wearing an Oakland Raiders jacket, a g-string and a hair scrunchie around his genitals. He was also wearing socks.
.
.
Officers said that he was very jittery and his pupils were dilated. They took him into custody on suspicion of being under the influence, which was later confirmed at the jail where it was discovered that he was also a parolee at-large, police said.

Obsessed woman over the color pink

Wanda Matthews, 20, loved pink from a young age – and, as soon as she moved into her own place, she set about transforming her home into a shrine to the color
Her bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom and children’s playroom are a candy-colored testament to her passion for pink, with everything from the carpets, wallpaper, furniture and bedding in varying shades of the rosy hue.
The mother of two, from Bolton, wears something pink every day from her pink wardrobe, and even her kitchen has a pink kettle, toaster, pots and pans.
She only buys pink cleaning products, listens to a pink iPod and makes calls on her pink cell phone. Her young daughters have happily fitted in with the color scheme, wearing pink clothes and playing with pink toys.
‘You could describe it as over the top. Some people think it’s a bit much but I don’t care – I’ve always loved pink,’ she said.
Her family are used to her fixation but she admits it has left boyfriend Danny, 24, a little bemused.
But it’s too late to stop her now – and there’s always something more to do.
‘I’m looking for some pink wood-paint to do my garden fence with and I’ve found this special heat-proof pink paint for the oven,’ she said.

Woolly, like a sheep, yet it looks like a dog

A sheep gave birth to a dog on a farm in China, claims its owner Liu Naiying, who has had people flocking to see the woolly 'lamb-puppy'.
'When I went up close to check on the lamb I was shocked because it looked so weird, like a cross between a sheep and a dog. 'I was a bit frightened, as I've been raising sheep for 20 years and had never seen such a creature.'
.

.
Though it has wool like a lamb's, the creature's mouth, nose, eyes, paws and tail are most definitely dog-like. Liu says the creature even plays like a puppy.
Vets, oddly enough, have stepped in and pointed out that it's impossible for a sheep to give birth to a dog, but that hasn't stopped the lamb-dog tourists rocking up to the farm in Fugu County, Shaanxi Province, in their droves.

Baby born with tail

Surgeons in China have operated to remove a five inch tail from a four-month-old baby girl.
The little girl, called Hong Hong, was born with the tail but it had since doubled in size.
Her father, Hou, of Lixing town in eastern China's Anhui province, said he had been "shocked" to see the tail at birth.
"I wanted to cut it off when she was born, but doctors suggested we wait some time, as a newborn is too weak to take such a surgery," he said.
He checked the tail each day, hoping it would get smaller but instead it just "grew bigger and bigger", he added.
Doctors at the Anhui Provincial Children's Hospital said they had been surprised by the case.
"It's very rare, about one in a million. We have never seen anything like this before," said Dr Sun Jun.
X-rays had shown that the tail was connected to a fatty tumor within the spinal column.

“Fish Boy”

This 14-month-old tot born without pores in his skin has baffled medics by developing fish scales.
Doctors believe little Song Sheng, of Jinhu, eastern China, may be suffering from a rare genetic condition that means his body cannot cool itself.
The lad - called fish boy by locals - began developing scales within days of his birth caused by his lack of pores.
Doctors say because he can't sweat or lose heat through his skin, it peels away in fish-like scales.
Instead, his family controls his body temperature by laying him in baths of ice.

Octo-boy plea

To some in his remote Indian village he is a living version of India's multi-limbed God Lakshmi and worshipped every day as holy.
To others eight-year-old Kumar Paswan is a monster, is stoned on sight and forced to hide away his astonishing medical condition.
But all the tragic youngster wants is to be normal and has launched an appeal for the thousands of pounds needed for an operation to remove his parasitic twin.
The twin stopped developing in the womb before it separated fully from Kumar and has left him with seven limbs.
"When he was born the doctors said he wouldn't live long but here he is and apart from how he looks he is very healthy," said his dad Veeresh Paswan, of Bihar, eastern India.
"I am tired of being different. I just want to live normally," added the youngster.
