A billboard in Fort Walton Beach Florida on Martin Luther King Boulevard that sports a curvy torso and the American flag is definitely an attention grabber.

City Leader Says Police Ineffective, Tells Residents to Get Armed
A St. Louis city leader frustrated with the police response to rising crime called Tuesday on residents to arm themselves to protect their lives and property.
Alderman Charles Quincy Troupe said police are ineffective, outnumbered or don't care about the increase in crime in his north St. Louis ward. St. Louis has had 157 homicides in 2008, 33 more than last year at this time.
"The community has to be ready to defend itself, because it's clear the economy is going to get worse, and criminals are getting more bold," Troupe, 72, said Tuesday.
Troupe said that when he and residents approached a district police commander last year, they were told "there was nothing he could do to protect us and the community ... that he didn't have the manpower."
Police did not immediately return requests for comment. Chief Dan Isom told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch he understands Troupe's frustration but doesn't support citizens arming themselves.
Carrying guns, he said, is not a "recipe for a less violent community."

Pregnant woman goes to jail with her stash of smuggled drugs
A pregnant Port Richey woman faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and introduction of contraband after she tried to smuggle methadone pills and a syringe into jail, the Sheriff's Office said.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Katrina Doyle was initially arrested Saturday morning on a count of domestic aggravated battery.
Doyle stabbed her husband in the back of the head with a ballpoint pen during an argument at their home in the 6900 block of Twilite Drive, the Sheriff's Office said. Her husband, David Anthony Pook, was taken to a hospital and later charged with domestic aggravated battery on a pregnant woman.
Pasco deputies booked Doyle into the county jail in Land O'Lakes that afternoon. Later, a witness at the jail said Doyle removed a bag of pills and a syringe from her rectum once she was placed into a cell. Doyle used the syringe and passed out, according to the incident report. The witness soon notified a corrections officer.

All Nude Beaches coming to Florida
Times are tough for our state.
So maybe we should add some nude beaches to our tourist attractions.
Think of it this way.
Would you rather face a bare-bones budget or bare-bones bathers?
Look at Haulover Beach in Miami-Dade, which is "clothing optional," suggests Richard Mason, president of the Florida Naturist Association.
"It's drawing more visitors than the Florida Marlins and the Miami Dolphins combined,"
For the past 18 years, that beach has been designated as a sanctioned clothing-optional beach — the only one in the state.
And the county is reaping the benefits of the $5 parking fee, which brings in about $1.4 million a year.
"It's time for the state of Florida to grow up and get naked," Mason says.

It’s a Strange World

1. In Lebanon, men are legally allowed to have sex with animals, but the animals must be female. Having sexual relations with a male animal is punishable by death.(Like THAT makes sense.)
2. In Bahrain, a male doctor may legally examine a woman’s genitals, but is prohibited from looking directly at them during the examination. He may only see their reflection in a mirror. (Do they look different reversed?)
3. The penalty for masturbation in Indonesia is decapitation. (…so they’ll never know they went blind?)
4. There are men in Guam whose full-time job is to travel the countryside and deflower young virgins, who pay them for the privilege of having sex for the first time…
Reason: Under Guam law, it is expressly forbidden for virgins to marry. (Let’s just think for a minute; is there any job anywhere else in the world that even comes close to this?)
5. In Hong Kong, a betrayed wife is legally allowed to kill her adulterous husband, but may only do so with her bare hands. The husband’s lover, on the other hand, may be killed in any manner desired. (Now this is justice!)
6. Topless saleswomen are legal in Liverpool, England - but only in tropical fish stores. (But of course that makes complete sense!)
7. In Cali, Colombia, a woman may only have sex with her husband, and the first time this happens, her mother must be in the room to witness the act. (Makes one shudder at the thought.)
8. In Santa Cruz, Bolivia, it is illegal for a man to have sex with a woman and her daughter at the same time. (I presume this was a big enough problem that they had to pass this law?)
9. In Maryland, it is illegal to sell condoms from vending machines with one exception: Prophylactics may be dispensed from a vending machine only "in places where alcoholic beverages are sold for consumption on the premises." (Is this a great country or what? Not as great as Guam!)

What To Do When Nature Calls

A desperate shopper got himself banned from a bathroom shop in Germany when he got caught short and used a display toilet.
Heinz Kessel, 39, dashed into the store in Bochum and relieved himself before realizing the lavatory wasn't connected to the drains.
Furious staff gave him a cleaning bill and a lifetime ban from the shop.
Shop assistant Simone Fiedler, 32, said: I was talking to another customer when I suddenly realized there was a terrible smell in the shop.
"I called the manager and we went around the shop looking for it and then behind a screen where we had some toilets on display there was this red-faced man trying to flush a display toilet. He thought it was hooked up to the mains and couldn’t understand why it wasn’t working.
He apologized and told us what had happened but in the end we had to shut the shop until it was all cleaned up because the smell was so bad customers would have been driven away anyway.

Marijuana Stash Found in Ancient Tomb

An ancient Caucasian people Yuezhi who seem to have buried one of their shamans with a whopping 789 grams of high-potency pot 2,700 years ago.
That's about 28 ounces of killer green bud, worth perhaps $8,000 at today's street prices, and enough to keep Harold and Kumar happy for a couple of days.

.
"It was common practice in burials to provide materials needed for the afterlife," lead author Ethan B. Russo, a practicing neurologist and prominent medicinal-marijuana advocate based in Missoula, Mont., tells the Canadian Press. "No hemp or seeds were provided for fabric or food. Rather, cannabis as medicine or for visionary purposes was supplied."
But the researchers couldn't tell if the weed was meant to be smoked or eaten.
No pipes, bongs or rolling papers were found in the tomb.
