Six-Legged Deer Recuperating After Dog Attack

Veterinarians at a north Georgia college have been treating an odd-looking deer after it was attacked by a dog.
The deer, according to vets at Berry College, has six legs and was found over the weekend near Rome. The animal is recovering from wounds it suffered in the attack.
Vets believe the deer should be kept in captivity.
Due to the injuries, one of its two tails had to be amputated. The fawn has two distinct pelvises and uses one leg from each pelvis to walk.
The six-legged creature could be sent to the University of Georgia to be studied.

Wal-Mart Intercom Pranks

Wal-Mart stores can be so big and the workers seem so bored and the customers seem so harried and annoying. It seems like the perfect fertile ground to have a little fun at Walt's expense. Sometimes I just want to jump on the intercom and say something. But how does one get access?
Planet Wally found the answer. You can use the intercom from any one of the many telephones Wal-Mart provides around the sales floor. Even better, we know the code! Here is how you use the intercom at Wal-Mart:
• Pick up the phone• Dial #96
You're now on the store intercom!
The proper way to use the store intercom, I mean, apart from the fact it is only supposed to be used by Wal-Mart employees, is to declare the code and the location. For instance, "Code White in Automotive". Here are a few helpful things you can do with the Intercom.
Intercom Codes:
INTERCOM HOLD: Sometimes silence is golden. So if you pick up the phone, dial #96 and then hit hold, nobody can use the intercom until they figure out which phone is on hold.
CODE 1: This code is used for SHOPLIFTING!
CODE 10: Dry Spill.
CODE 20: Wet Spill.
CODE 90: Management Needed. That sounds useless.
CODE 99: This code implies that there is an emergency and all male employees are to immediately stop what they are doing and move to the announced location.
CODE 300: Security Needed. For grins, call Code 300 to the location you are currently at.
CODE ADAM: Code Adam is used to report a lost child. Technically, the store is supposed to shut all doors until the lost child is found. This sounds like fun until you realize that you are going to be trapped in a Wal-Mart for hours while they attempt to locate a missing child.
CODE BLACK: This code is used for severe weather. It's only used if something severe is happening such as tornadoes are bearing down on the store. All employees are supposed to immediately head to the fitting rooms at the center of the store. Wal-Mart doesn't like to use this code because it quite frankly, when the employees all leave, it leads to looting.
CODE BLUE A bomb scare.
CODE C: Customer service. A customer needs help in a location like housewares.
CODE GREEN: This code is used when there is a hostage in the store. Ask yourself, do you really want to shop at a store that needs to have a special code for a hostage situation?
CODE ORANGE: This is for a chemical spill. Water is a chemical.
CODE RED: This is used in case of a fire!
CODE WHITE: is used for an injury.
With knowledge comes power.

The bridge that took 55 years to build
Driving along India's eastern National Highway 31 got easier last week when a bridge was opened across the Torsha river near the Ghoksadanga-Pundibari area. There were celebrations at its inauguration in the state of West Bengal.
But not many people were aware that it had taken 55 years for the 454-meter long bridge project to be realized. The delay has been blamed on red tape, litigation and natural disasters.

Shoplifter left daughter behind
A German shoplifter who ran off with expensive cosmetics was caught after leaving her six-year-old daugher behind.
Birgit Mahler, 33, stuffed the cosmetics worth £80 in her handbag and left the shop in the German city of Sonthofen without paying.
But a security tag set off an alarm, and as soon as she heard it Mahler ran off down the road before staff could react, unfortunately she forgot about her six-year-old daughter who was left standing alone wondering where her mother had gone.
Store staff called police and they collected the child together with a social worker.
The spokesman added: "The girl's father turned up to report the child missing and seemed genuinely surprised to hear how his daughter had been lost.

Van crashes into Coffee House, injuring two
Kenneth Mack Anderson had just finished dinner on Wednesday and was reading the newspaper at the Coffee House on Oakwoods Road when a van blasted through the wall, knocking him out of his booth and pinning him against the counter. "I'm really sore, but other than that I'm OK," Anderson said.
Video-surveillance footage from inside the restaurant shows him sitting there at 8:16 p.m. in a booth in the smoking section. Suddenly glass and debris start flying, and Anderson is propelled eight feet sideways.
Trapped against the counter, he looks around, reaches down for his hat and puts it back on his head.

Man With No Arms, Legs Takes Part In Triathlon
Pittsburgh Triathlon, there were a lot of individual competitors and teams with competitors for each event. One team, however, stood out. That team contained three friends: Jim on the Bike, Ned doing the running, and Craig Dietz doing the swimming. However, Dietz was born with no arms or legs.
"It felt great when I first decided to do it," said Dietz. "I was a little unsure and even leading up to it I was a little unsure. You can swim 100 miles in the pool and it's not going to prepare you for swimming in that river." In the end, he finished 275th out of 308 participants.

Animal Shelter Will House 2 Dogs Trained to Have Sex With Women
The nation's largest animal sanctuary has agreed to accept two dogs that authorities say were trained to have sex with women.
A mixed breed and a Labrador, formerly owned by Diane Sue Whalen of Tulsa County, have been accepted by the Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, Utah, said Barbara Williamson, spokeswoman for the animal sanctuary.
The dogs — named Lucky and Buddy — will be taken to the no-kill sanctuary next month.
Whalen, 54, and Donald Roy Seigfried, 55, were charged with felony crimes against nature after Whalen's adult son found more than 150 tapes of his mother performing sex acts with her dogs and a blue heeler owned by Seigfried. Seigfried was accused of filming the acts.
A deputy who investigated the case had recommended that the dogs be euthanized and wrote in court affidavits that the dogs had been trained to rape.
