The taste of puke
Believe it or not, Te Puke is actually the name of a town in
New Zealand known for its fresh produce.
.
Mad Izatie said...
Oh yeah, we drove past the Te Puke thing while on tour with my family.
And 'Puke' means hoohoo (vagina) in my native language so you can imagine how wrong that sign was to us when we first saw it.
.
So you're saying it should say stop and taste our "Vagina's."
.
Mad Izatie said...
Yeah... it pretty much means taste our hoohoos. And there were alot of other places in New Zealand with the word 'Puke' for names, like Puke Tua ('tua' means old) and a drive-in nursery named Puke Hoi. It was hillarious.
.

Too much yeast?
At first glance they seem to be boasting mildewed muffins or fungal French bread, but Molde is, in fact, the name of this west coast Norwegian town.

New defense strategy
Finally a little competition for Dewey, Cheatum & Howe.

Spanish Shop Owner Finds Homer Simpson Euro

A Spanish shop owner was counting cash in his till in the city of Aviles when he came across a coin bearing the likeness of Homer Simpson instead of Spanish King Juan Carlos.
"The coin must have been done by a professional, the work is impressive," Jose Martinez told Reuters. The carver didn't touch the other side of the one euro coin, displaying the map of Europe. "I've been offered 20 euros for it," Martinez said.
Reuters reported no other coins bearing the likeness of Simpson have been found in circulation.

Judge cracks up over insults
A German judge fled a court because she could not control her hysterics over a case.
Judge Brigitte Koppenhoefer started laughing as she tried the case between two feuding neighbors.
But after hearing how they had launched egg fights and even sent each other parcels filled with feces she struggled to repress giggles.
She finally burst into laughter when the pair started calling each other names including "smelly bum" and "donkey face".
Five minutes later she had to walk out - and when she came back she threw out the "ridiculous" case.

90-year-old woman 'thong' wish
A 90-year-old woman saw her dreams come true when she was served fish and chips by a man dressed only in a thong and a see-through apron.
The St Austell care home resident's fantasy was fulfilled by Cornwall Care, as part of its Make a Wish initiative.
The "dish of the day" was served by a male member of staff who volunteered to act as her waiter at Woodland House.
After the meal, the resident said: "I thoroughly enjoyed my fish and chips served by the half naked man."

Absent minded pilot strands family on island
The budget airline easyJet has agreed to pay nearly £1,750 compensation to a family who were stranded in the Canary Islands after their flight home was cancelled.
Nicola and Robert Starkie had been to a friend’s wedding with their two young daughters. When they arrived at the airport in Las Palmas on Grand Canary after their week-long break they were told that the pilot had forgotten to renew his licence to fly.
The couple and four other relatives were among 25 passengers who could not be placed on the next available flight. They were told that they would have to wait five days for a flight home and even then could not be guaranteed a seat.
To add insult to injury the airline told them it would pay for hotel accommodation for only two nights, leaving them to fend for themselves.

Fight Over Mall Parking Space Ends in Stabbing
A violent argument over a car space in one of Sydney's busiest shopping malls has left one man fighting for life after he was stabbed in the back and stomach.
Jerry Uesele, 39, was in a serious condition in Liverpool Hospital after the stabbing during a fight over a car space in Fairfield's Neeta City Shopping Center.
The man who allegedly attacked him — Robert Silvester Gregorec — was apprehended by mall security guards and held until police arrived.
It is understood witnesses have told police the victim was sitting in his car in the multi-story car park at the Neeta City Shopping Center when he was approached by Gregorec, who was waiting to take his space.
A verbal exchange followed in which Gregorec allegedly told Uesele to hurry up and leave the space so he could have it.

Mexico Fines U.S. Drivers Seeking Cheap Diesel
A Mexican border city has begun fining U.S. drivers who cross the border to fill extra drums, tanks or barrels with government-subsidized Mexican fuel.
The city of Ciudad Acuna, across the border from Del Rio, Texas, said Friday that it fined four U.S. residents for carrying extra diesel and would impound their cars until they pay. The fines equal 70 percent of the value of the diesel confiscated.
U.S. drivers can fill up their own vehicles, but carrying extra fuel containers back across the border violates customs regulations and possibly safety rules, a report from the city said.
Mexico, one of the world's top 10 oil producers, sells diesel fuel domestically at subsidized prices of about $2.25 per gallon, about half the U.S. price.
Mexican filling stations near the U.S. border have seen an increase in American drivers who cross over to fill up. Mexican truckers and drivers complain the run on fuel is causing temporary shortages and longer lines for them.
