Thief steals security cameras, leaves tapes behind.
Police in Stockton, California are on the lookout for a thief who's leaving plenty of evidence behind.
The man has stolen several security cameras from the outside of local school buildings, leaving close-ups of his face and distinctive tattoos each time.
Security officer Rich Leyba says the thief appeared to know what he was doing. "He is a professional, he had the tools with him and he was ready and he was well equipped," Leyba said.Police and school officials are hoping the public can help them identify the camera thief.

A woman has been charged with physical abuse of a child after her 2-year-old daughter ate two LSD-laced candies the woman allegedly purchased and brought back to their apartment.

The mother, Donielle M. Maki, 23, went to a house and bought 10 drug-laced candies that looked like SweeTarts for $7 each from a man at the house. Maki told investigators she bought the LSD for her cousin.
After buying the drugs, Maki went home, put her 2-year-old daughter to bed and then "passed out" on the couch in the apartment. When she woke up Wednesday at about 9 a.m., her daughter was sitting on the floor near her Care Bears couch and said, "I like these, Mommy" and had one of the drug-laced candies in her hand. Maki saw only eight pieces of candy left and knew her daughter had eaten two of them. » Full article here

Maybe it should be called “Canine Nose Moisture” or “Liquid Pants” instead.

I imagine this is a variant on the popular Japanese sport drink Pocari Sweat.

The use of the word “sweat” in the name is supposed to suggest that this is a drink appropriate for physically active people, and that it will restore electrolytes, etc. Its intent is the same as that of Gatorade.

DOHA (Reuters) - The tiny Gulf state of Qatar, famed mainly for having the Arab world's largest reserves of natural gas, added another record to its name Tuesday -- one of the world's most expensive telephone numbers.
At a charity event in the capital of Doha, a Qatari bidder paid $2.75 million for the mobile phone number 666-6666.
The winner, who made the highest bid 10 minutes into the auction, declined requests for interviews. Eight people took part in the auction, organized by Qatar Telecom to help raise funds for charity, paying 3,000 Qatari riyals ($824.60) per ticket.Funds from the ticket sales were given to a local charity, while the 10 million riyals from the sale of the number will be used to expand medical services.
