Man in Breathalyzer Costume Accused of Drunken Driving

A man wearing a breathalyzer costume was arrested Sunday on suspicion of driving drunk.
According to a police report, 18-year-old James N. P. Miller, of Cincinnati, was seen driving the wrong way out of the entrance to a one-way street at East Park Place in Oxford.
Officers executed a traffic stop and found that Miller was wearing a breathalyzer costume. After investigation, police said, Miller was found to be operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Inside his car, officers allegedly found an open container of Bud Light in the center console.
Officers also found what was left of a case of Bud Light in the passenger side front seat and in the trunk.
After checking his wallet, police said, they found multiple Ohio IDs.
He was arrested and transported to the police station, where he consented to take a blood-alcohol-content test. His results were a .158 percent BAC.
He was cited for OVI, open container and a one-way street violation, among other charges and released to his girlfriend.

School space vs. MySpace

Facebook and MySpace are challenging schools struggling to respond to new technology. Some are responding badly.
Churubusco High School is a prime example. Administrators there interfered in what was not a school matter and now find themselves as defendants in a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union.
The suit, filed in U.S. District Court, alleges the Smith-Green Community School Corp. and Principal Austin Couch violated the First Amendment rights of two female students.
The girls, identified only by initials, were part of a sleepover last summer attended by other students from Churubusco High School, according to the suit. At the event, they took pictures of themselves “pretending to kiss or lick a large multi-colored novelty phallus-shaped lollipop.” In other photos they were dressed in lingerie with dollar bills tucked into their clothing. They posted the photos on their MySpace pages, which can be accessed only by the friends they select.
Someone with access to the photos, however, downloaded them and gave them to the principal and other school employees.
Couch suspended the two girls from all athletic and extracurricular activities for the year, according to court documents.
When their parents appealed the decision, he gave the students the option to reduce their punishment by 25 percent if they would submit to three counseling sessions and apologize individually to the coaches for which all of whom are men.
The girls submitted to the counseling sessions, and the reports were turned over to the principal.
“The forced counseling was humiliating to the plaintiffs, and being forced to appear before the coaches to apologize for their intended humorous photographs … was profoundly embarrassing,” the lawsuit states.

Courtroom gesture earns man six-month jail term

County judge asked Kane E. Kellett to raise his right hand and be sworn in court Saturday morning; the Crystal Lake man raised just a finger.
The middle one.
The gesture might have felt good at the time, but the 24-year-old may be rethinking his actions Monday as he sits in the county jail, serving a six-month sentence for contempt of court.
The incident, which also included some profane language directed toward Judge G. Martin Zopp, occurred less than 12 hours after police captured Kellett in Crystal Lake on warrants for home invasion, aggravated battery and other charges.

Man jumps out door of plane ready to take-off
A passenger has opened a rear exit and slid down an emergency chute as an airliner prepared for take-off to Athens, police in Cyprus have said.
A police spokesman said the 28-year-old sailor, who holds a Greek passport, then jumped the Larnaca airport fence and disappeared.
A formal arrest warrant was being issued on charges of breaking civil aviation safety regulations and entering a prohibited airport space without permission.
Investigators do not know what spurred the man to leave the Cyprus Airways jet carrying 158 passengers’ moments after the captain ordered the crew to lock the aircraft doors.

11-Year-Old Gives Birth on Wedding Day
An 11-year-old girl has become a mother after going into labor during her wedding to her teenage boyfriend.
Kordeza Zhelyazkova was still wearing her wedding dress and tiara when she arrived at hospital and gave birth to little Violeta.
The schoolgirl, from Sliven, Bulgaria, became pregnant within just two weeks of her 11th birthday.
She gave birth last week with 19-year-old husband Jeliazko Dimitrov at her side.
"I'm not going to play with toys any more — I have a new toy now," Kordeza told Britain's News of the World newspaper. "She is so beautiful, I love her. Violeta is the child and I must grow up. I am not going back to school — I am a mother now."
Kordeza met Jeliazko on the playground of her gypsy school when he rescued her from bullies. Their daughter was conceived within a week.
"I haven't had sex education classes and I didn't know how to get pregnant," Kordeza admitted. "I'd never had a boyfriend and I'd never heard of condoms. I didn't know I was pregnant until my grandmother saw I had put on weight. I just thought I'd eaten too many burgers."

Dog buys 5,000 Xbox points

Perhaps you are one of those who saves your credit card information on your Xbox remote so you can buy points at the very time your mood demands them. Perhaps you also have a dog then this story will be important to you.
Greg was in bed with Christine but his Xbox wasn't. The next morning Greg went downstairs and checked his phone to discover that the e-mail was a thank you from Microsoft for purchasing 5,000 Xbox points. Greg was somewhat flummoxed, as the time of purchase seemed to coincide with the time he was in bed.
Then he espied his Xbox remote. He detected a little spittle. The spittle was not his own, nor that of his beloved, nor even that of his roommate, who had also been in bed at the time. The spittle belonged to Oscar, his dog.
Perhaps Oscar had sudden urges to buy some new game content. Because there was no other explanation as to who had made the Xbox purchase. "The only living creature that could have done it was the dog," he said.
Greg surmised that Oscar had pawed at the remote with such beginner's good fortune that he had successfully spent $62.50.
Greg didn't even attempt to persuade Microsoft there had been a mistake. However, he said "I just wish they'd make it a little harder to purchase points."
Oh, Greg. Retail doesn't work that way. It's there to make purchasing easier.
