Man using crazy glue, gets stuck in jail
Police arrested a man on vandalism charges after he allegedly crazy-glued a woman's electronics into the wall sockets of her bedroom.
Abram Perkins, 40, was held in the Shelby County Jail on $2,000 bond following his arrest in the Whitehaven area.
According to an affidavit, Perkins plugged the woman's electronics into sockets with crazy glue and poured water on some equipment, causing $4,300 worth of damage.
After confronting Perkins in her bedroom, which the victim also uses as an office, the woman asked him what happened to her things.
Perkins laughed and admitted to the vandalism, according to the affidavit. He then left, taking some items with him.
Police arrested Perkins at the house across the street from the crime scene.

Ohio woman, 100, has bank account dating back to 1913
An Ohio woman who just turned 100 years old has taken customer loyalty to the extreme: She's still using a bank savings account that's been around almost as long as she has, since the year before World War I.

Boy, 10, ticketed for improper seat belt use
A 10-year-old Central Texas boy has been given a ticket for wearing his seat belt incorrectly.
Fourth-grader Marshall May says he was in a minivan's passenger seat when he stuck his head out the window and his seat belt slipped. A Leander police officer pulled over the van that Marshall's 19-year-old aunt was driving and gave the boy a ticket.
Texas law says the adult in the car is at fault when a child isn't properly secured by a seat belt. The aunt was not ticketed.
Interim Leander City Manager Robert Powers said the officer made a mistake but the court decides whether to dismiss the ticket.
Marshall printed his name on the ticket, saying "I don't have a signature because I'm 10 years old."

Man abandons nearly $1 million
Law officers in Houston have confiscated nearly $1 million in two bags that a man abandoned after denying that he knew anything about the cash.
The money-filled suitcase and gym bag were seized from a man from Mexico staying at an upscale hotel.
Federal agents received a tip about possible drug money laundering and monitored the man's comings and goings, then confronted him as he prepared to check out. Investigators say the man, who had a valid U.S. visa, said he was given the bags for delivery in Houston. No further details were provided.
The man was not arrested and left the hotel, abandoning more than $995,000.

Burglar showers in home, flees with clothes behind
A burglar failed to make a clean getaway after showering in a New Jersey home.
Leonia, N.J. Police say the suspect dropped a shirt and sock while fleeing when the resident came home.
The Record newspaper reports police believe the suspect took jewelry and prescription medication before opening up a new bar of soap and jumping in the shower.
Police also say a fingerprint left behind has them looking for a 19-year-old who once lived nearby.

Naked man skinny dips in pool

Overland Park, Kan. Police say a man who ran naked through a neighborhood before jumping into a pool full of children. The 20-year-old man ran in and out of traffic in the northeastern Kansas community Wednesday afternoon before jumping a fence and into the pool.

He then enjoyed a solo skinny dip for several minutes until police arrived and coaxed him out of the water. Officers escorted him away in handcuffs and a towel. He was taken to a hospital by ambulance for evaluation and probably won't be charged.

Moon Run firefighters had to rescue a woman after her hand got stuck in an automated teller machine.

The McDonald woman said she was getting cash out of the First Commonwealth machine in Robinson when the incident happened.
Rescuers said they had to use a special piece of equipment to free the woman.
Fire Chief Paul Kashmer said it was the second time in less than a year that his firefighters had to use special tools to save someone from a machine.

Burglar cuts hole in roof, but Big Screen TV doesn't fit
Des Moines police say a burglar cut a hole into the roof of TNT Vietnamese restaurant, dropped down for some loot and escaped through the same hole.
Police say the burglar got $200 from a cash register but apparently couldn't get back out of the building with a big-screen TV from the restaurant. The TV was damaged in the effort. The front and back doors remained locked.

Soldier thwarts bank robber
An Army staff sergeant home on leave in southwest Florida chased down a suspected bank robber and held him until authorities arrived.
Officials say Eddie Peoples was at a Bank of America branch in Sarasota with his two young sons when a man walked in with a handgun and demanded cash from the tellers. Peoples sprang into action after the man threatened his sons. Peoples left his sons inside while he ran to his vehicle to block the suspect's car in the parking lot. The suspect got out and pointed his gun at Peoples, who twisted the man's arm, stripped away the gun and slammed him to the ground. Sarasota Sheriff's deputies arrested 34-year-old Matthew Rogers.
The gun turned out to be a toy.

Burglar was arrest with family help

The Meek family of Des Moines discovered a car prowl in progress and then captured the suspect and held him for police.
The suspect, Schuyler Keith Paxson, 18, of Des Moines, is charged with three counts of third-degree burglary. He is in the Polk County Jail today, held on $12,000 bond.

Police said a member of David Meek’s family spotted someone going through Meek’s car shortly before 7 a.m... The prowler reportedly made eye contact with one of Meek’s teenage children and ran. Family members gave chase, caught up with him and escorted him back to the house.
Police were told that the suspect had a bag over his shoulder when he ran. Officers looked through yards in the area and found a bag. They later discovered there were other victims in the area. At last report there were three police cases associated with Paxson’s arrest.

Man on phone says that he's wanted, is arrested
The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says a man who talked loudly in his motel room about being a fugitive was arrested after other guests turned him in.
It happened at the Traveler's Motel in Delmar. Deputies say guests there heard a man yelling during a phone conversation that there was a warrant for his arrest and called police.
Thirty-two-year-old Richard R. Vermalyea of Rehoboth Beach, Del. was arrested and ordered held on two open warrants in Cecil County, Md. one was for failure to appear in a theft case and other for violation of probation.

Man fakes attack to avoid child support
Authorities in Hernando County Florida say a man made up a story about being robbed and stabbed in hopes of missing an upcoming court date.
Deputies say 51-year-old Michael Cherubino admitted he cut himself with a piece of glass. Earlier, he had told authorities two men attacked him at his home, stabbed him in the stomach and stole about $4,000.
Cherubino told authorities he had hoped the injury would send him to the hospital so he would miss a court date and have an excuse not to pay $4,000 he owed in child support.
Instead, he was issued a notice to appear on charges of giving a false report to law enforcement.

Man sold tobacco products to boys after spankings
Authorities in Lexington, South Carolina say they arrested a 50-year-old convenience store clerk who sold cigarettes and smokeless tobacco to boys after they let him spank them.
Lexington County deputies said that they started investigating Terrence Bryant after the father of a 12-year-old boy found him with a pack of Newport cigarettes earlier this month.
Detectives say Bryant sold the boy cigarettes at least five times from his pickup truck, spanking the child in the parking lot over his clothes.
Deputies say Bryant also sold tobacco to two 15-year-old boys after spanking them.
Bryant is charged with three counts of lewd act upon a child under age 16. He is awaiting a bond hearing and deputies say he doesn't have an attorney yet.

Burglar used a bike to carry a Big Screen TV
South Daytona Police says it wasn't hard to spot the burglary suspect. He was riding his bicycle, carrying a 59-inch television. A bike patrol officer says 23-year-old Steven Long had wedged the television between the handlebars and his lap as he pedaled along.
According to reports, he panicked when he saw the police officer; he ditched the bike and the stolen television. Police caught up with Long in a nearby backyard and arrested him.
Officers spoke with a resident who reported a burglary. They said they'd been asleep when someone pried open a side door and took the TV. They identified the one Long had been carrying as theirs.
Long now faces several charges, including felony theft.
