Car thieves trapped by pigs
A pair of teenage German car thieves ended up calling police for help after they were cornered by a herd of wild boar.
Dieter Meier and Reiner Klose, both 18, had abandoned a stolen car and run into thick forests after being chased by cops in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania region.
They managed to lose the officers and planned to wait until the next morning but were charged at by a herd of wild boar.
They climbed up a tree but the animals would not go away and eventually they had to call police. They were immediately arrested and charged with theft.
A police spokesman said: "They were petrified by the boar. They decided arrest was better than the pigs."

Father learns kids don't inflate
Phnom Penh - A Cambodian father and mechanic learned the hard way not to inflate children when he inserted an air hose designed to fill car tires into his 5-year-old son's anus and blew him up. Try Sienghym was "playing" with his son Sok Sambo when the incident took place. The child's stomach became distended and his concerned mother rushed him to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery."The father very much regrets playing like this now," the paper quoted a family member as saying.
Police were not expected to take action against the father, blaming the incident on pure stupidity, against which there is currently no law.

Judge orders teenage drug user to write essay
A JUDGE has ordered a teenager caught with ecstasy to write a 2000-word essay on the dangers of using drugs.
Nicholas Benjamin Siiankoski, 18, today pleaded guilty in the Supreme Court in Brisbane to possessing a dangerous drug. He was sentenced to three years probation and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service.
However, in a bid to hammer home the potential dangers of drugs, Justice George Fryberg also ordered the teenager write a researched essay on the effects of cannabis and ecstasy.
The teenager was today given three months to write an essay on the topic: "The harmful effects of using cannabis and ecstasy.''

Temple underwear ruling
Nearly 200 staff at a Hindu temple in southern India have won the right to wear underwear to work. The human rights commission in Kerala state has ordered Sabarimala temple to withdraw a dress code that barred staff from wearing underwear. The dress code was imposed 10 years ago after several cases of theft.
Cash and jewelry - It also receives a huge amount of donations in the form of cash and gold, silver and diamond jewelry.
The state human rights decision followed after an anonymous complaint about the issue.
The staff working in the strong room of the temple, where the cash and jewelry are kept, are not allowed to wear anything except a sarong-like lower garment called "mundu".
Last year, the temple received cash and gifts worth $18.7million.

Once a thief always a thief
Thief paid £3,000 to leave UK back next day
A prolific thief who was paid £3,000 by the Government to leave Britain returned the next day to continue stealing, a court has heard. Hakim Benmakhlouf, 26, who is Algerian, preyed on tourists and guests at five-star hotels and restaurants, stealing cash, passports and designer handbags. Benmakhlouf, who dressed from head to toe in designer clothes, was caught and convicted, then offered £3,000 under a "voluntary repatriation" scheme.
He took the money and left Britain but returned by Eurostar from Paris the next day to continue his lucrative crime spree, Southwark Crown Court heard. One investigating officer described Benmakhlouf as the "best thief I have ever seen". Sentencing, Judge John Price jailed him for three years and recommended that he be deported as soon as he has served his term.

Sweet Tooth Robbers
The bad guys got the goodies. Police in Pittsburgh are looking for the perps in a truffles stick-up.
According to investigators, two men walked into the Betsy Ann Chocolates shop downtown yesterday afternoon.
Police say they acted as if they had guns and robbed the candy store of $125 and a $40 box of fine chocolate truffles.
The candy crooks also took the store clerk's wallet, but gave it back because it didn't have any money.
