This Ryder truck had its top peeled off this morning after making it completely through the Brady Street railroad overpass at 5th Street in Davenport Iowa before realizing that the truck was too tall.
The railroad overpasses in downtown Davenport claimed yet another unsuspecting victim this morning. About 7:40 a.m., a Ryder rental truck was traveling north on U.S. 61 when it struck the railroad bridge at 500 Brady St. The truck managed to get all the way under the bridge, but the collision peeled back the top of the empty truck. Debris from the accident quickly was cleaned up, and traffic is back to normal.
