Bikini-clad woman, American flag inappropriate
A billboard in Fort Walton Beach Florida on Martin Luther King Boulevard that sports a curvy torso and the American flag is definitely an attention grabber.
The advertisement for Destin Plastic Surgery depicts a bikini-clad woman against an American flag backdrop with the phrase "We Support Our Troops."

City Leader Says Police Ineffective, Tells Residents to Get Armed
A St. Louis city leader frustrated with the police response to rising crime called Tuesday on residents to arm themselves to protect their lives and property.
Alderman Charles Quincy Troupe said police are ineffective, outnumbered or don't care about the increase in crime in his north St. Louis ward. St. Louis has had 157 homicides in 2008, 33 more than last year at this time.
"The community has to be ready to defend itself, because it's clear the economy is going to get worse, and criminals are getting more bold," Troupe, 72, said Tuesday.
Troupe said that when he and residents approached a district police commander last year, they were told "there was nothing he could do to protect us and the community ... that he didn't have the manpower."
Police did not immediately return requests for comment. Chief Dan Isom told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch he understands Troupe's frustration but doesn't support citizens arming themselves.
Carrying guns, he said, is not a "recipe for a less violent community."

Pregnant woman goes to jail with her stash of smuggled drugs
A pregnant Port Richey woman faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and introduction of contraband after she tried to smuggle methadone pills and a syringe into jail, the Sheriff's Office said.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Katrina Doyle was initially arrested Saturday morning on a count of domestic aggravated battery.
Doyle stabbed her husband in the back of the head with a ballpoint pen during an argument at their home in the 6900 block of Twilite Drive, the Sheriff's Office said. Her husband, David Anthony Pook, was taken to a hospital and later charged with domestic aggravated battery on a pregnant woman.
Pasco deputies booked Doyle into the county jail in Land O'Lakes that afternoon. Later, a witness at the jail said Doyle removed a bag of pills and a syringe from her rectum once she was placed into a cell. Doyle used the syringe and passed out, according to the incident report. The witness soon notified a corrections officer.

All Nude Beaches coming to Florida
Times are tough for our state.
Times are tough for our state.
So maybe we should add some nude beaches to our tourist attractions.
Think of it this way.
Would you rather face a bare-bones budget or bare-bones bathers?
Look at Haulover Beach in Miami-Dade, which is "clothing optional," suggests Richard Mason, president of the Florida Naturist Association.
"It's drawing more visitors than the Florida Marlins and the Miami Dolphins combined,"
For the past 18 years, that beach has been designated as a sanctioned clothing-optional beach — the only one in the state.
And the county is reaping the benefits of the $5 parking fee, which brings in about $1.4 million a year.
"It's time for the state of Florida to grow up and get naked," Mason says.
