Now that's a tumor

Despite having an amputation at the knee 14 years ago, he still has an 80kg, 1m-wide growth. "I can't do anything, I can only sit and lie down," he said in his home in the town of Da Lat in the country's Central Highlands.
The tumor is the largest ever documented in Vietnam, Vu Van Thach, head of examination department of Hanoi tumor hospital, he said.
Hai's family is too poor to afford another operation after the amputation in 1997 failed to stop the growth, and now he is appealing for funds to afford medical help.

Lead surgeon Peter Cornelius from Bamberg, Germany, explained: "The operation to remove the tumor took three hours. It was complicated as so much of the lower face was disfigured by it. Only then, were we able to reconstruct her face."
The young woman faces more reconstructive surgery to rebuild her face, but said she was delighted by the surgery. "The doctors not only saved my life - they have given me a future as well," she said.
