Man cuts his car in half over dispute

A Gloucester man took drastic action when his car was clamped - he sawed it in half. Ian Taylor, 40, of Tredworth, said: "I bought the car for my stepson to do up but it was below economical to do it so it has been parked on the drive for months."I have a SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification) certificate and it has never been driven on the roads. It was clamped because I didn't have road tax but it was off the road." Mr Taylor, who is a builder, discovered the burgundy L-reg Ford Fiesta, which he had bought for his 16-year-old stepson Scott, had been clamped at about 12.30pm on Wednesday. He said: "I couldn't believe they had clamped it on the drive, just because half the tyre was on the road off the boundary of our drive on a footpath. We tried to complain but no one we spoke to knew what the legislation was.
"So when the lorry came this morning to take it away, I used a petrol disc cutter to cut it in half. I am absolutely furious. I paid £50 for the car and it would cost me £280 to get it unclamped." Angry Mr Taylor added: "I cut it in half and said they could have the half that was on the road. The ticket said not to damage or remove the clamp so I didn't. It was a drastic thing to do but it worked. I stand by my decision."A police spokeswoman said: "Police were called by a staff member of the DVLA to Tarrington Road in Gloucester just before 9am, following reports that a man was in the street with a chain saw. On police attendance the man was using a disc cutter and attempting to cut his own car in half, following a civil dispute with the DVLA. He was not threatening anyone with the disc cutter and there will be no further police action."

Surgeons remove 125-pound belly from Russian woman

When Natalya M. was rushed to a hospital in Voronezh, Russia, the doctors didn’t believe their eyes – the woman had a gigantic skin-fat growth on her belly that didn’t let her walk normally. It was 36 inches long and weighed 125 pounds.
Natalya was overweight since 13, when she had hormonal disturbance. She tried all the existing diets, visited hundreds of doctors, but with no result. Years passed as her belly was growing larger and larger. Finally it became so huge that the woman literally had to stump it to make a step.
Oleg Strigin, the head of the department of surgery of the hospital, where the woman was rushed, said they don’t do such complicated surgeries often. He said there are 4 levels of the belly-growth: the inch of more than 4-inch length belongs to the 4th level. We’ve never seen the growth of 36 inches!
The growth-removing surgery lasted for many hours. The surgeons removed fat the weight of a grown-up woman!

Daughter Fails GED, Dad Jailed
Brian Gegner is in jail for 180 days for failing to keep an eye on his daughter's education. The problem is his daughter is 18 and has passed all except the math portion of the GED which she has failed several times. The order stems from 2 years ago.
When the original truancy happened, Brian Gegner had custody of his daughter even though she was living with her mother. Brittany and her mother both say they should be the ones to go to jail if anyone had to. "It's ridiculously wrong," said Brittany.
The court says that even though Brittany is now an adult the order can be upheld since she was a juvenile at the time. Gegner is also facing the possibility of losing his job, which he has had for 15 years, over this situation.
13 Year Old Steals Dad's Credit Card to Buy Hookers
A 13 year old from Texas who stole his Dad's credit card and ordered two hookers from an escort agency, has today been convicted of fraud and given a three year community order.
Ralph Hardy, a 13 year old from Newark, Texas confessed to ordering an extra credit card from his father's existing credit card company, and took his friends on a $30,000 spending spree, culminating in playing "Halo" on an Xbox with a couple of hookers in a Texas motel.
The credit card company involved said it was regular practice to send extra credit cards out as long as all security questions are answered.
The escort girls who were released without charge, told the arresting officers something was up when the kids said they would rather play Xbox than get down to business.
