A once in a lifetime moment!

Melissa Brandts and her husband were exploring Lake Minnewanka in Banff National Park, Canada, when they stopped for a timed picture of the two of them. They had their camera set up on some rocks and were getting ready to take the picture when this curious little ground squirrel appeared, became intrigued with the sound of the focusing camera and popped right into their shot! A once in a lifetime moment! They were laughing about this little guy for days!

Small Bits of News You Didn’t Know you Needed

It's all in the timing

A Peterborough couple are to marry at the 'once in a lifetime' time and date of: 12:34:56, 7/8/09.
The perfect order occurs just once in every hundred years - always on August 7, always on the tenth year.
Troy Peters and Katie Barfoot knew their big day would be memorable, but didn't initially realise the lunchtime ceremony would give them such a remarkable dateline.

Mouse builds nest of $20 bills inside ATM
A mouse was found inside an automatic teller machine Louisiana Grande, Oregon - along with a nest it had built with chewed-up $20 bills - gave an employee the surprise of her life.
The mouse, discovered Thursday, had thoroughly torn up two bills and damaged another 14 to line his nest. Employee Millie Taylor says she screamed and slammed the machine's door shut.
The bank replaced all the money that wasn't extensively damaged, and the ATM has continued to work just fine. The mouse also got a reprieve: He was evicted from his nest but set free outside the station.

Baby without shoes kicked out of Burger King
Like most restaurants, the Burger King in this St. Louis suburb has a no shoes, no shirt, no service policy.
And baby, do they enforce it.
Too much so, the company admitted, after apologizing for restaurant workers who asked a mother to leave because her 6-month-old wasn’t wearing shoes.
Jennifer Frederich, her mother and Frederich’s infant daughter, Kaylin, stopped at the Burger King in Sunset Hills on Sunday. The baby was shoeless — Frederich figured tiny baby feet were immune from the rule.
But workers told the family to leave because the shoeless baby was violating a health code. In fact, shoelessness is not a health code violation in St. Louis County.

Obese man was able to get gun into jail under fat

An obese inmate in Texas has been charged after officials learned he had a gun hidden under flabs of his own flesh.
Twenty-five-year-old George Vera was charged with possession of a firearm in a correctional facility after he told a guard at the Harris County Jail about the unloaded 9mm pistol.
The Houston Chronicle reported Thursday that Vera was originally arrested on charges of selling illegal copies of compact discs.
The 500-pound man was searched during his arrest and again at a city jail and the county jail, but officers never found the weapon in his rolls of skin.
Vera admitted having the gun during a shower break at the county jail.
