What’s Your Favorite Flavor of Ice-cream
The city of Yokohama has marked the 130th anniversary of the arrival of ice cream in Japan with a festival showcasing exotic regional varieties
More than 125 varieties of ice cream have been available in the two week festival, including cheese. Another favorite was flavored with very finely sliced pieces of pearl from the traditional pearl-growing region of Japan's inland sea.
A man who tried to elongate his penis with a nut found himself in trouble when the nut got stuck after he had an erection.
The victim, from Taman Sri Skudai, had apparently been trying to increase the length of his penis ahead of his engagement next week when disaster struck.
The 20-something-year-old victim went to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital here to seek treatment when he was unable to get the nut off himself.
He was finally put out of his misery when doctors removed the nut by using a needle to suck out some of the blood and cut away skin on the upper layer of his organ to remove the nut.
This is the second case in the past week involving objects stuck on penises. On Aug 25, Doctors at the University Malaya Medical Center in Kuala Lumpur had to cut a steel ring from a patient’s penis.
Boy has shoulder made from his elbow
A teenage cancer patient has undergone successful surgery to rebuild his shoulder using his elbow.
Tom Lemm, 15, from Pontefract, had his left arm amputated by surgeons at Leeds General Hospital because of a tumor at the top of the limb.
Doctors used tissue and muscle from his unaffected elbow to create a new shoulder in what is believed to be the first UK operation of its kind.
Tom's surgeon said the shoulder would be able to support an artificial arm.
In the operation, the whole arm and the shoulder joint were removed.
The surgeons then used the elbow joint and tissue from the arm to reconstruct a shoulder joint.

South American doctors are trying to find out the reason behind the hefty weight of an 11-month-old baby.
The baby weighs nearly 62 pounds, which is the average weight of an 8-year-old in Colombia, where he was born.
The baby's mother, Milena Orosco de Agudelo, said he began to balloon when he was just 2 months old.
"He had some test done and the results show that he has a thyroid malfunction," said Orosco.
But the doctors are still uncertain.
"The baby will have tests done to see if he's obese or we're dealing with hypothyroidism," said doctor David Dias of the Barranquilla Pediatric Hospital in Colombia.
Hypothyroidism is most commonly a result of an autoimmune condition known as Hashimoto's thyroiditis, in which the body's own immune cells attack and destroy the thyroid gland. Symptoms include fatigue and weight gain.
The normal weight for a boy his age is between 13 and 16 pounds.

When Collier County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 19-year-old man on trespassing charges at Wal-Mart on Monday, and then found a stolen debit card in his pants pocket, the teen had a perfectly good excuse. "They weren’t his pants."
The teen, Richard W. Obdyke, 637 101st Ave., North Naples, told deputies he found the pants in his van, and did not know who they belonged to, reports said. When asked who may have left the pants in his van, Obdyke couldn’t think of anyone.
So, as credible as his excuse was, deputies chose to check it out.
Deputies located the owner of the debit card, Deborah Cahill, who said someone had charged $32.80 at McDonalds, $42.02 at a Shell gas station, and $85 at a 7-Eleven to her account. She said she didn’t know where her debit card was, and thought she may have left it at Marsala Pizza over the weekend, reports said.
Surprise, surprise, deputies determined that Obdyke was an employee of Marsala Pizza.

In a moment of frustration he snapped and caught her cheek with the back of his hand as he tried to push her away.
His partner persistently wakes him during the night requiring sex

Flies are one jump ahead of the swatter
Astonishingly quick thinking accounts for the ability of flies to avoid being swatted, scientists have discovered. High-speed imaging has revealed an ability to execute an emergency takeoff in a split second.
Within 200 milliseconds of spotting the looming swatter, the fly calculates the location of the threat and positions its legs for a jump in the safest direction.
Cell Phone Alarm Blamed for Teen's Fatal Heart Attack
A cell phone alarm is being blamed for triggering a sudden heart attack that led to the death of a teenager in Britain.
Kaisa Ber, 17, collapsed at home two weeks after her teachers took her to the hospital with heart palpitations and irregular breathing.
It was later discovered the teenager had Long QT syndrome. LQTS is a condition that causes sudden, uncontrollable and dangerous heart rhythms in response to stress and exercise, according to the National Institutes of Health. Irregular rhythms may also be triggered by surprise or extreme emotions. In Kaisa's case, doctors believe a cell phone alarm ultimately caused her heart attack.

Prosecutors in suburban Chicago analyzed data from the Garmin GPS device to pinpoint where Hanson had been on the morning after his parents were fatally shot and his sister and brother-in-law bludgeoned to death in 2005. He was convicted of the killings earlier this year and sentenced to death.
The growing popularity of GPS systems — in cars, cell phones and other handheld devices — gives authorities another powerful tool to track suspects.

The snake named Chomran, which means "lucky" in Khmer, is a 20 ft long python who apparently loves giving his human buddy big hugs. A possible reason of their great relationship is their age, which is the same. One might think that at the age of 7 two different individuals would share the same interests.
Poor kid ... he has to have the stupidest parents on the planet. Who would allow their 7 year old to play with a deadly snake like that? It would take seconds for that snake to crush that little boy. Sometimes you just can't fix stupid.

The boy, named Kiron, was taken home by his family last night against doctors' advice, as they were too poor to keep him in hospital, reports said.
Kiron was born with two heads, causing crowds of 150,000 to surround a hospital as they try to get a glimpse of him yesterday.

With consumer price inflation at 37 percent according to the latest central bank estimate, demand has pushed a kilogram of rat meat up to around 5,000 riel ($1.28) from 1,200 riel last year.
Spicy field rat dishes with garlic thrown in have become particularly popular at a time when beef costs 20,000 riel a kg.
Officials said rats were fleeing to higher ground from flooded areas of the lower Mekong Delta, making it easier for villagers to catch them.
Monroe Schools Superintendent Elizabeth Lolli said that cheerleaders were instructed to wear long shorts and T-shirts underneath their uniforms at a pep rally Friday.

Lolli said the skirts are allowed only during assemblies and games.
The family of a British paratrooper has moved out of their home after a dangerous spider hitched a lift back from Afghanistan with him.
Days after Rodney Griffiths returned home from a four-month tour of Helmand province with 16 Air Assault Brigade, the family's pet dog Bella mysteriously died.
Son Ricky, 16, then spotted the giant spider, prompting the soldier's wife Lorraine to move the family out of their four-bedroom army home in Colchester, Essex.
Mother-of-four Mrs Griffiths, 37, said: "Ricky saw a huge spider and screamed to his sister Cassie. They tried to put a pint-glass over it but it was too big, they poked it with a coat hanger and the spider bit it. The dog came in, jumped on the bed and barked at it. The spider hissed and Bella went running out whimpering."
Days later the family took Bella to the vet with a high temperature and swollen stomach. She had to be put down. Mrs Griffiths said she thought her death "too much of a coincidence" although the vet could not say why the dog died.
After scouring the internet for spider descriptions they decided the culprit was a camel spider.

Man tells deputies he slept through car chase
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says a man who led a deputy on a high-speed pursuit told investigators he was sleeping, not driving, during the chase.
According to reports, deputies didn't believe Anthony Fernandez's claim that someone else was behind the wheel. They arrested the 49-year-old Key West man on charges of fleeing and eluding police, running a red light, speeding and driving with a suspended license.
A report states that after Fernandez stopped driving a 2005 black Dodge Ram pickup truck during Monday morning's chase, he got out of the driver's side of the car, ran to the passenger side, opened the door, and walked slowly to the front.
Fernandez told investigators that a friend was driving during the chase and then fled the scene while he slept.
Truck Driver Robbed Own Truck
Police say the story just didn't make sense.
A delivery truck driver said he had been robbed at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon while attempting to put a large amount of cash into a safe at the back of the vehicle.
But authorities were suspicious, since there didn't seem to be any witnesses and the driver couldn't say what the robber looked like. After further questioning, police said the driver confessed he was the one who actually stole the money.
The driver was charged with grand larceny and making a false report.

The InPrivate feature on Internet Explorer 8, nicknamed "porn mode", allows users to conceal the sites they have viewed at the click of a button.
Once the setting is chosen, others using the same computer will not be able to see which sites have been accessed. Other browsers have similar functions, but this one is far more prominent.
Body Was Decomposing in Trunk of Car
Results taken from air samples reveal that a body was decomposing in the trunk of a car driven by the mother of missing Florida toddler Caylee Anthony.
Detectives with cadaver dogs said in July they detected the smell of human decomposition coming from the trunk of the Pontiac that the mother, Casey Anthony, was driving when police began investigating the disappearance of her little girl, who was last seen more than two months ago.
The University of Tennessee "Body Farm" conducted the tests on the car's air samples Aug. 10, and on Wednesday their conclusion was released: a human corpse had been decomposing there.
Back in July, Caylee's grandmother Cindy Anthony initially made a frantic 911 call to report that her daughter's car smelled like a dead body. She later said the scent just as easily could have been that of rotting pizza.

The woman, who was not named, was preparing to fly from Stockholm's Arlanda airport to Germany yesterday when she lay down on an unmanned baggage belt in the belief she was following check-in instructions.
She was quickly swept off to the baggage handling center, where staff members helped get her back on her feet.

One man was cut and Slagel had a cut on his hand, but police say the injuries weren't serious.
Police say that after awhile, Slagel got thirsty and sent two of his hostages out for beer. After they left they called police and Slagel was arrested without incident.

A cheeky tradesman from Lincolnshire has unveiled his base coat to become what is thought to be Britain's first naked painter and decorator.
Nick Male (39) has called himself The Naked Painter since launching his exclusive painting and decorating service.
The bare-bottomed decorator, from a village near Lincoln, decided to strip off after spending 17 years as a painter clad in overalls.
Mr Male has mixed business with pleasure by coupling his love of naturism with his job. And the bookings are flooding in.
"I was looking for an innovative way of getting business in," he said.
"I'd say 95 per cent of my clients are naturists too."
"I often get phone calls from people who think I offer other services. Women are worse than men with what they say. They're not very subtle.

The teen motorcyclist is accused in wild chase on I-29 involving wheelie and a cell phone.
A speeding teenage motorcyclist who popped a wheelie on a North Dakota interstate and then opened up the throttle to more than 150 miles per hour took enough care to pull over before using his cell phone.
By the time authorities caught up with the suspect and his 1000cc Honda CBR, he was sitting in a ditch in Minnesota talking on his cell phone and was arrested, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist, from Fargo, N.D., waived extradition and was returned to North Dakota to face charges of reckless driving and fleeing police.
Teen Blames "Making Out" With Drunk Female For His Alcohol Violation
A teenage college student tried -- and failed -- to persuade Mankato police that a makeout session was behind his being tipsy.
After campus security at Minnesota State University, Mankato, reported a stumbling male on the street about 2:45 a.m. Saturday, police approached 18-year-old James A. Carroll and gave him a preliminary breath test. Carroll scored a 0.063 percent reading, police Cmdr. Amy Vokal said Tuesday.
Carroll's excuse, according to Vokal, was that he "was making out with a drunk" female about 30 minutes earlier.
For the record, Vokal said, such a scenario "is not possible. The breath [that is tested] comes from the lungs."
Priest claims pot was from God
A Bulgarian priest is to go under police surveillance - because of a field of cannabis he claims is a gift from God.
Father Cyril Papudov has been arrested seven times but police have never caught him actually cultivating the crop.
He claims the cannabis seeded by itself and is part of God's gift of nature and nothing to do with him.
One police source in Petrich told local media: "There has been a great deal of suspicion over the years about what is going on with these plants.
"He is a man of the cloth and so a lot of people don't want to think badly of him but frankly if someone has a huge crop of cannabis in their back garden it's highly unlikely they are just sitting there admiring its horticultural properties."
Now police are planning a 24-hour surveillance operation.
A police spokesman said: "Although the man involved is a member of the clergy we feel this surveillance is necessary.
"By keeping a watch on the plants we can make sure this is the case and put an end to any suspicions over the purpose of these plants once and for all."
Marijuana growing in Mall of Americas
This gives a new meaning to picking up something at the flower shop in the mall.
The Mall of the Americas in Miami was home to a business not usually found among the food courts, retail stores and movie theaters of similar locations: a hydroponic nursery with more than 200 marijuana plants.
Federal agents seized the plants on Friday. The grow operation was found deep in a storeroom at the mall. Authorities say the growers used the mall’s electricity to power their equipment, adding the flimsy wiring could have caused a fire.
Agents would not say how the drugs were found, and no arrests have been made.
A 10-foot Burmese Python killed a student zookeeper in Caracas on the weekend and was caught trying to swallow its dead human prey when horrified coworkers arrived
The other employees of the Caracas zoo had to beat the serpent to make it release the body of 29-year-old Erick Arrieta, whose head it was swallowing.
According to the daily, Arrieta had been working the night shift alone on Saturday, looking after the reptile section of the zoo.
The university biology student had broken the park's rules by entering the cage holding the snake, which had been donated two months ago and was not on public display, according to the zoo's management.
A snake bite on his arm indicated the python had attacked Arrieta before wrapping itself around him and crushing him to death.
A California woman says she endured an embarrassing standoff with Transportation Safety Administration officials over her bra before a flight to visit her mother in Boston.
Nancy Kates, who wore a underwire bra, thought the security check by a female TSA agent before JetBlue flight 472 at Oakland International Airport was too invasive.
"The woman touched my breast," Kates said, according to the report. "I said, 'You can't do that.' She said, 'We have to pat you down. I said, "You can't treat me as a criminal for wearing a bra.'"
The agent's supervisor later told Kates that she could choose between a pat-down in a private room or not flying. Kates, of Berkeley, Calif., reportedly offered a third alternative — to take off her bra and try again — which TSA agents accepted.
Kates said the incident took 40 minutes, causing her to miss her flight. She arrived in Boston four hours late.
TSA spokesman Nico Melendez said security agents must "resolve an alarm" in all circumstances. "Unfortunately, we can't take a passenger's word for it,"
After nine years, one of her husbands said that he still can't get her to divorce him.
Robert Parchman has been engaged for almost eight years and he said it's not cold feet that's holding him back
His fiancé won't wear his ring until his wife stops wearing his name.
"The third time she got married, she got caught and thrown in jail," Parchman said.
The not-so-happy husband said that his wife has been marrying other men for the past decade.
His wife, Barbara Ann Moore, is still on the run and facing charges.
Moore married Parchman first, then Raymond Moore Jr. and then David Denney.
After saying "I do," in 1999, she spend part of her honeymoon in the Covington jail.
Parchman said that she's been in jail several times since but she gets free again before he can get the divorce papers to her cell.
