3-year-old gets a bikers licence

A three-year-old boy has been granted a special licence to ride a motorcycle by judges in India.
Azeem Khan had to prove he could control the powerful Royal Enfield Bullet after his dad added special extensions to the controls so he could reach them.
"He is much safer than most adult drivers I know," said proud dad Shantanu, of New Delhi.
"I used to sit him on my bike and he would always grab at the controls. One day he will be a professional racer for sure," he added.
But Azeem, who turns four next month, is not allowed out on the main roads on his own.
"Of course I won't let him drive on the busy roads without me on the bike as well. I trust Azeem but I don't trust other drivers," he said.
And the pint-sized biker already has his sights set on his next set of wheels.
"What he really wants is a Harley Davidson but he'll have to wait a few more years for that," added his father.

Woman Finds Her Stolen Property at Neighbor's Yard Sale

Imagine coming home from vacation and finding your house has been robbed. You walk down the road to your neighbor — who happens to be wearing your favorite t-shirt — and you ask if he saw anything. That's when you realize he's having a yard sale — with all your stolen property! That's exactly what happened to a woman in Severn, Maryland.
The theft victim called police and told them that she recognized her Oriental rug, and a dresser — not to mention the t-shirt the man wearing selling her possessions.
Police responded soon after and arrested the man at the scene. The neighbor, 46 year-old David Perticone, was charged with three counts of burglary and felony theft. Police say this was no petty crime. "It was estimated the property stolen was around $25,000. Items as large as kitchen appliances and televisions," Justin Mulcahy, spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Police Department, told reporters. Perticone said in an interview that he wasn't thinking clearly because he had been taking drugs daily with a friend until recently, when he quit. He was convicted of drug possession in June, according to court records reviewed by the station.

Collection Agency Sends Four Letters To Collect A $.04 Debt

Pete received a bill in the mail that has him slightly offended and amused. A health care provider has sent his balance to collections after a payment arrived late a few years ago. They will clearly be hurting if he doesn't pay his overdue balance of ....four cents.
Yesterday I got a collections notice in the mail from a collections group on behalf of my health provider – it took several calls to determine this was based off a debt from 2004 where a payment was late, but paid after notice – they didn't alert me to the exact amount – leaving a few cents on the bill.
After calling the collections company about this – they laughed and said to treat this, and the next three notices with the same information as a Origami trainer and ignore it.
This came in a regular envelope, which suggests a 40 cent mailing cost + paper + envelope X 4 notices – many more times than the debt itself! Add to that the suggestion that I may be able to get the debt reduced to 50% If I respond in time!
Reduced to half, really? Are you sure you don't want to take them up on this offer?
Automated letters save a lot of work, but result in some ridiculous situations.
