Bank robber stops in his tracks literally
A bank robber hit the Florida Citizens Bank in Ocala and then fled.
He got some cash, but he didn't make it far.
In fact, he just didn't make it at all. The bank robber was found dead of heart attack
A woman walking her dog on a street which dead-ends into a retention pond saw a person a few yards from the wooded area.
She called 911.
Detectives said the person and clothing matched the description given of the bank robber, later identified as Christopher Allen, 44.
The medical examiner determined that Allen died of a heart attack, with a contributing factor of cocaine toxicity.
They recovered a bag of money with $1,805 in cash along with the mask and the weapon, which turned out to be a pellet gun.
Guess he won't be spending the loot.

During job interview to become a cop, man admits having kiddy porn.
A 25-year-old Santa Rosa County man applying for a job with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office admitted having child pornography on his computer during the job screening process and was arrested.
Clarence W. Burnette, 25, was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail and will be charged with one count of possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony, state Attorney General Bill McCollum said in a news release. Additional charges may be added.
Burnette, of Sellersville in northern Santa Rosa County, had applied for a position with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office and told deputies during his pre-employment polygraph test that he possessed child pornography.
CyberCrime investigators seized the computer at Burnett's home and conducted forensic analysis to confirm child pornography was indeed on the computer.

Man accused of raping girlfriend's grandmother

A 25-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night on charges of raping a 76-year-old woman in her Umatilla home
Juan Cahuich-Santiago, boyfriend of the alleged victim's granddaughter, was staying with the family at the time, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office. Other family members had gone to buy groceries on Jan. 9 and returned to find the grandmother lying sideways on a recliner with her clothes askew.
She had been able to stand before their trip to the store but could not stand up after their return. She was taken to a hospital.
In an interview, Cahuich-Santiago at first told investigators, through a Spanish-language translator, that he didn't rape the woman. Later, he admitted having sex with her while using a condom, according to the Sheriff's Office. He reportedly said he had been watching a pornographic movie and decided to approach her.

Prisoners made to wear stained underwear

Prisoners forced to wear old and stained pants had their human rights abused, an investigation has ruled.
The inmates were treated inhumanely at the Edmonton Remand Center in Canada, according to an official report.
As well being made to wear the unhygienic underwear, they also suffered lice-infested bedding, poor air quality and terrible food.
Prisoners were also being locked two in a cell for between 18 and 21 hours per day, with limited access to recreational activities for months or even years.
Court of Queen's Bench justice Richard Marceau, in a new 285-page report, also condemned "unacceptable and discriminatory" racism by some warders - including a telephone ban for Asian inmates.
He said the treatment of Edmonton inmates "shocks the conscience and is grossly disproportionate".
Of the underwear policy, he wrote: "This does not accord with public standards of decency."
The center, built in the 1970s, is used for holding prisoners while they wait to go on trial.
Although it was initially meant for about 340 prisoners, more than 800 are now crammed into the facility.

A generous tip to a hotel chamber maid proved a costly mistake for a Lebanese man after it led to him being caught with $66m of fake currency.
The man gave the woman a US $500 bill - a denomination last printed in 1945 and only in very limited circulation.
Police in Malaysia were called after the housekeeper found the note was a fake when she tried to change it to local currency at a bureau de change.
When officers arrested the man they found fake currency with a face value of $66m in bundles of $1m, $100,000 and $500 notes in his Kuala Lumpar hotel room.
The man now faces up to 10 years jail if convicted of possessing counterfeit currency.
The largest denomination of US currency ever printed by the US Treasury Department was a special edition one for $100,000 in 1934.
The largest US note currently in wide circulation is a $100 bill.

16-year-old girl runs in front of a bus and survives

A schoolgirl escaped with barely a scratch when she was hit by a bus - and landed right in a snowdrift.
The astonishing video of Zhanna Sankina's collision shows the apparently doomed Zhanna, 16, running in front of the bus as she runs across the road.
The youngster, from Orenburg, said: "When the bus smashed into me I didn't know what was going on. I just woke up and saw all the doctors around me."
Accident experts believe that the crash pushed Zhanna into a deep pocket of snow which absorbed the impact like shock-absorbing foam or an airbag.
"She walked away with barely a bruise. On a sunny day she would have been dead," said one traffic cop.

Mother Faces Charges for Cursing at Principal
A New Jersey woman went to court Wednesday for a disorderly conduct charge after she cursed out a middle school principal.
Cindy Schwalb says a boy pulled down her 13-year-old daughter's sweatpants in front of other students at Hasbrouck Heights Middle School.
Schwalb says she went to a school board seminar about bullying and got upset when her daughter's case wasn't given the attention she felt it deserved.
Schwalb says she became enraged when the district superintendent starting asking her questions, including one about whether her daughter was wearing a thong.
Superintendent Joseph Luongo says it was a fair question, "I had to find out what body parts were actually revealed."

Bar masturbator caught Vaseline-handed
Accused of repeatedly exposing himself at a SeaTac bar, a 41-year-old man has been charged with indecent exposure with sexual motivation
King County prosecutors claim in charging documents, Basim Salim Abdul-Rahim was seated in the bar of the 13 Coins restaurant when a bartender there noticed he was staring at her. The woman became concerned when she realized Abdul-Rahim was fondling himself.
Abdul-Rahim fled before police arrived, a King County detective said in court documents, leaving behind a container of Vaseline.
Two days later he allegedly returned to the restaurant, prompting the bartender to call the police to report that a man who'd repeatedly exposed himself was sitting at the bar, according to court documents. Deputies arrested Abdul-Rahim, finding his hands coated with petroleum jelly.
Confronted by police, Abdul-Rahim allegedly admitted to frequenting the bar but denied following the bartender, according to prosecutors' statements.
Questioned about his Vaseline-covered hands, he said he'd been having phone sex with his wife, prosecutors alleged. She denied the claim but offered that her husband had previously been convicted on similar charges in Clallam County.

Channing Tatum's privates scalded in movie mishap

Channing Tatum has told of the "suffocating" pain he endured when his penis was scalded by boiling water on the set of his latest film.
The G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra star told Details magazine that he was rushed to hospital with severe burns to his privates after the on-set mishap.
Boiling water was accidentally poured down Tatum's wetsuit to stop him from getting hypothermia while shooting The Eagle of The Ninth in the freezing waters off Scotland.
Stagehands reportedly forgot to dilute the boiling water, straight from the kettle, with cold water.
The 29-year-old told Details it was "the most painful thing I have ever experienced in my life".
"I was trying to pull the suit away from my body to somehow get away from the boiling water, and the more I pulled the suit away, the lower the water went. It just went straight down," he said.
"I've been to the hospital, gotten stitches, had broken fingers and toes. But this was a suffocating kind of pain."
Tatum reportedly told his driver he may have to be knocked unconscious because the pain was so unbearable.
After reaching the hospital - an hour away - a team of doctors salvaged and bandaged the wound.
"I had five guys looking at my shriveled, burned penis," Tatum said of his hospital visit.
For anyone wondering how the recovery went, Tatum was happy to report he is fully recovered.
"I'm good . . . now," he said.
"Now my penis is fantastic! One hundred percent recovered. Put me back in the game, Coach."

Naked man faces life in prison

The naked rambler, Stephen Gough, has been told he will spend the rest of his life behind bars if he continues refusing to wear clothes in public.
The former Royal Marine, who became notorious for his naked hike from Land's End to John O'Groats in 2003, has spent much of the past seven years in prison for repeatedly appearing nude in public.
He was yesterday found guilty of breaching the peace when he walked naked from Perth prison in December after finishing a 12 month sentence for the same offence. Mr. Gough was warned he will continue to be jailed every time he steps out of prison without any clothes on.
The 50-year-old, who conducted his own defense while appearing in court completely naked, turned down an offer to walk free yesterday on the condition that he got dressed.
