Agents Say Those Who Planted Crop 'Farmed It To Perfection'
(CBS) DALLAS The Drug Enforcement Administration believes they have found the largest marijuana field in Dallas history.
On Friday, agents found 10,451 plants on seven acres on land near Camp Wisdom and Beltline roads.
Authorities said whoever planted the field went to great lengths to make sure they had a healthy, yet hidden crop.
On Saturday, a bull dozer was used to cut through a quarter-mile of thick brush so agents could collect the plants.
The field of pot was discovered on TXU-owned land near the Trintiy River. Originally, Grand Prairie police believed the crop was in their city limits, but later learned it was on the Dallas County side.
During the collection process, officials said the plant sizes ranged from seedlings to 7 feet tall.
The estimated street value for the marijuana is $4 million to $5 million.
