Peeing on Patrol Car

Authorities in Wilson, N.C. say 23-year-old Chuck R. Daniels was charged with urinating in public after Trooper Kevin Woods reviewed surveillance camera records.

Woods says he found the windows and doors on the passenger side of his car were wet when he returned after taking a suspect into the Wilson County Magistrate's Office.

Daniels is expected in court in May on charges he urinated on a North Carolina Highway Patrol car parked in front of a county magistrate's office.

Authorities say Daniels had been arrested on misdemeanor charges of possession of stolen goods and drugs. Woods says the man had been released and was waiting for a ride home when he urinated on the car.

Robber with big stick steals $10 in gas

A suspect in a southwestern Pennsylvania gas station robbery walks tall and carries a big stick.

State police in Uniontown say they're hoping surveillance video or witnesses can help them identify the man who robbed the Sunoco Gas station on U.S. Route 119 in Bullskin Township Friday afternoon.

Police say the man asked for $10 in gas and, after it was pumped, got out of his vehicle with an 18-inch piece of wood and demanded money from the gas station attendant.

Police say the man is thin and tall, perhaps as tall as 6-foot-3. The clean-shaven man is driving a two-door Pontiac Grand Am with no license plate.

Woman exposed herself to kids

A Melbourne woman was arrested after the police said she yanked down her “hot pink” pants and exposed herself to schoolchildren in Fellsmere.

Tammy Ann Roseman, 39, faces a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct after the incident in Indian River County.

An officer with the Fellsmere Police Department wrote in the arrest affidavit that a public school bus was southbound on North Willow Street when it came upon a pedestrian near the intersection with Vernon Street. There were students on the bus.

The driver “observed her begin to unbutton her pants,” the affidavit said. “Passengers began screaming, while some began covering their eyes with their hands.”

In his rearview mirror, the driver saw the woman “mooning” the school bus. He reported the incident to the school district’s dispatch center.

An officer recognized Roseman from her previous run-ins with law enforcement. She was sent to the Indian River County Jail.

Roseman is a felon with an extensive criminal history in Brevard County. Her charges have included cocaine possession, grand theft auto, loitering and prowling, disorderly intoxication, obstructing a highway, trespassing, burglary and prostitution lewdness.

Man knocked down girls to get cheap thrills

Dennis Delisle, 48, was arrested at a roller skating party the Skate Jam in Palm Bay.

Parents notified the cops that Delisle was purposely knocking the kids over, mainly the girls. He is accused of inappropriately touching the girls when he helped to pick them up.

Delisle said that it was a conspiracy plot: The kids ganged up on him and made the accusations because they were jealous of his skating skills.

Teen ticketed for injuring 'car-surfing' girls

Sixteen-year-old Pedro Mendez was ticketed after three teen girls riding on the hood of his car were thrown off and injured.

The Palm Bay teen was traveling between 15 and 20 mph when he suddenly braked flinging the 15-, 16- and 17-year-old girls onto the pavement  The girls suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Road rash, however, won't compliment their summer attire.

Surgeons: Time to Remove Battery From Boy

Arizona doctors are going to have to cut a boy open to get a leaking battery out of his stomach. He swallowed the small lithium battery from a DVD remote.

It happened a few months ago, but Friday, surgeons prepared for the operation at the Phoenix Children's Hospital. Doctors say it's especially dangerous because the battery leaked inside the boy, burning his esophagus.

"When we found out that the battery was lodged in his esophagus, we were devastated, sickened, shocked," said the boy's mother, Karla Ranch. "We couldn't believe that this could have happened."

Experts say you can find these tiny batteries in other household items like bathroom scales, hearing aids, and singing greeting cards.

10-year-old boy to have sex change

A Court has allowed a 10-year-old boy to become the youngest Australian to have sex-change therapy.

The boy, known as Jamie, has lived as a girl for two years, dressing in feminine clothes, using the girls' toilet at school and "presenting as a very attractive young girl with long, blonde hair", the court heard.

The court heard Jamie saw herself as a "freak" and a "girl in a boy's body", and had first identified as a girl when she was a toddler.

Her mother said though doctors had told her Jamie would be the youngest patient to start such treatment, she was confident it was in her best interests.

She said before her child changed schools in year 3 and acted as a girl, she told her, "Mummy, it is so hard trying to be a boy", and that she had to "go to school disguised as a boy".

The mother said the family had started treating Jamie as a female in 2008 after her non-identical twin brother accepted her condition and announced: "I have a sister."

Yellow lines to show pedestrians where to walk

Yellow lines are normally used to stop motorists parking on the road - but now they have been painted on a pavement in a town center to show pedestrians where to walk.

Two lines stretch for 100m (328ft) down a high street. Other yellow lines have been painted around trees, a post box and cash points.

The path has caused confusion for residents in Ripple Road, Barking, east London, who cannot see the point of it.

‘We have all managed until now to walk along the path without tripping over things in the way, so why do we suddenly need guidelines?’ said 49-year-old Martin Harris. ‘It’s completely over the top and another sign of health and safety gone mad.’

Sarah Waldram, 32, added: ‘I’ve never seen anyone bump into a post box, why do we need yellow lines to show us the way?’

A Barking and Dagenham Council spokesman said the lines provided ‘a marked walk-through’ and a decision on whether to keep them would be made within three months.

Man Spots His Stolen Car At Stop Light
A Central Florida man is happy to have his stolen car back after he randomly pulled up behind it at a red light Monday.

Ben Gaskill said he left on Friday with his family to New Smyrna Beach for a weekend vacation. He said when they came back his wife's 2005 Hyundai Sonata was gone from the driveway.

Gaskill said someone broke into their house and stole the spare keys.

He said he was driving to the hardware store after work on when he stopped at a red light he looked up; he was stopped directly behind the stolen car.

He said the car had the familiar flower sticker in the back window that he had put there for his wife.

"You never really think you're going to see it again," Gaskill said.

He said he called 911 and stayed on the phone with the dispatcher until deputies arrived and arrested the suspects.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, three 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old were arrested.

Deputies said they also found marijuana in the car.

Man accused of shooting AK-47 at paramedics

Paramedics were summoned to a St. Petersburg Beach residence on behalf of a man that was having seizures.

But when they arrived to help the man, his girlfriend wouldn't let them inside.

Another man then came running out of the residence warning everyone to "run."

And with good reason.

The man that was supposedly having seizures, Calvin Teodoro Foronda, 20, fired an AK-47 at the paramedics from inside the home.

They must have had good duck 'n cover training — nobody was hit with the bullet.

But Foronda was hit with 4 counts of aggravated assault on a firefighter and a $40,000 surety bond, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

Police find laptops in trash can

Two stolen laptops were recovered from a garbage can -- along with marijuana -- suburban Chicago police say. Wilmette, Ill., police said they were called to a house Thursday and told that two Apple laptops valued at $2,200 and $360 were missing.

Officers found the computers in pillow cases inside trash can in the back yard, but they also found an undisclosed amount of marijuana and two pipes, along with whiskey and beer bottles, police said.

One of the home's four residents said the drugs and paraphernalia were taken from the room he shared with a roommate on the first floor.

The other two residents, whose rooms are on the second floor, reported nothing stolen, and one of them slept through the burglary.

Police Chief Brian King said none of the residents has been charged, but the investigation is not over.

"Obviously, it's an unusual burglary," he said.

Man fell asleep in restroom trigger alarm

Pittsburgh police say a man who triggered a burglar alarm at Macy’s Department Store didn't break into the store -- he merely fell asleep in a restroom and didn't leave before the store closed.

Officers were responding to the alarm Thursday night when police got another call from the man who told them of his unfortunate situation

Police located the man who had been locked in the store and verified his story. Police didn't charge the man, so they're not releasing his identity.

Man texts friend before burglarizing him

A western Pennsylvania man is jailed on charges he burglarized a former high school friend's home after text messaging the victim to ensure he wasn't home.

Thirty-one-year-old James Hill, of Murrysville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and is awaiting trial on burglary and other charges. Murrysville police say this incident happened on April 4, and that they're investigating similar incidents involving at least two other former classmates at Franklin Regional High School.

Police say the homeowner left work and saw Hill exiting the residence and called police after another friend saw Hill entering the home through the garage and alerted the victim.

Police say Hill pawned jewelry he stole to support a drug habit.

College paper goes topless for exotic dancer story

A Philadelphia college newspaper has gone topless to publish a story alleging a professor used exotic dancers in a business seminar.

La Salle University students say administrators would not let them print the story above the fold on the front page. The top half is blank, except for the words "See below the fold."

Officials at the private Catholic University have previously confirmed an investigation of the March 21 seminar.

The newspaper's executive editor, Vinny Vella, says administrators initially forbade him from printing the article at all until their investigation was complete.

They relented after the Philadelphia City Paper broke the story April 8 but issued the story-location caveat. The university's dean declined to comment.

Man bites police dog

A 33-year-old man who bit back after he was caught by a Phoenix police dog is suing police.

Erin Sullivan alleges the dog violated his civil rights and used excessive force to capture him after he ran from officers in Glendale during a burglary investigation last year.

Police say Sullivan bit the dog back, injuring it.

The lawsuit names the cities of Phoenix and Glendale and four officers.

Precursor filings to the lawsuit sought $200,000 from Glendale and $250,000 from Phoenix.

Sullivan also alleges Glendale police refused to give him insulin to treat his diabetes. Sullivan's attorney, Keith Knowlton, has said his client suffered a diabetic seizure in a Glendale cell.

Officials in Glendale and Phoenix have declined comment.

Traffic Light Sex Couple

Red-faced traffic bosses are investigating how pranksters altered a set of pedestrian lights to show a couple having sex whenever they turned green.

The lights - in Nimwegen, Holland - literally stopped the traffic when passers by stopped to gawk at them during rush hour.

One officer said: 'People kept pressing the button to see the couple having sex and of course every time they did, the traffic had to stop suddenly. We had quite a lot of rear end shunts from drivers who were too distracted.'

Transport officials are investigating how computer hackers managed to get into the town's traffic light system to manipulate the image.

A Town Hall spokesperson said: 'We are looking at who had access and opportunity.'
