A woman has given new meaning to a class-action lawsuit.

Grad Sues College for $70,000 Because She Can't Find a Job
Trina Thompson gave it the old college try, but couldn't find work. Now she thinks her sheepskin wasn't worth her time, and is suing her alma mater for her money back.
The Monroe College grad wants the $70,000 she spent on tuition because she hasn't found gainful employment since earning her bachelor's degree in April, according to a suit filed in Bronx Supreme Court on July 24.
The 27-year-old alleges the business-oriented Bronx school hasn't lived up to its end of the bargain, and has not done enough to find her a job.
The information-technology student blames Monroe's Office of Career Advancement for not providing her with the leads and career advice it promised.
"They have not tried hard enough to help me," the frustrated Bronx resident wrote about the school in her lawsuit.

I really hope that she wins. First off these loans are loan sharked to these students. Where the schools charge an administrative fee that can be as much as 1/4 to 1/3 of the entire loan, that still needs to be paid back with interest. An interest rate of 6 to 8% over TEN years. The schools care little for their students while in their colleges and nothing for them after they leave.
All while under a Non-Profit tax exemption status. Requiring multiple classes that have nothing to do with your field of study. So I hope she wins and sets a new standard.

What has she been doing on her own to find a job? Did she do any research on colleges before picking this one? And if she did research, did she even look at how many alums get jobs?

While I think it is great for a college to help their students find jobs upon graduation, the student is still responsible for their own employment. Heck, she could use LinkedIn or one of many other websites to find a job. Unless her major is in some obsolete practice, she should be able to find employment.

The only way I would agree to this lawsuit is if the college guaranteed in writing that they will find a job for every graduating student.

What this story does tell you is that she has a "stellar" 2.7 GPA and "good attendance", and that she believes anyone would LOVE to have someone with her credentials...

I don't know what kind of hack college takes attendance or what that even has to do with anything

2.7 HA HA HA!!!!!

I hope this idiot loses. She's not "entitled" to a job, nor is it the colleges problem to give her one.
